its the blur. makes it look like a macro lens. that's all i did. google "tilt shift"

yah he essentially removes depth of field so it looks like the lens is right up ons.

It's amazing how much people recognize about photography without relizing they know anything about it. We are all trained enough to know that that photo should be macro without actually understanding the reason behind it.

Looks like it makes everything closer to the same size. First pic, tractor as big as the miata for example.

scott: try blurring so that the unblurred line is perpendicular to the lines of perspective. you want everything at the same distance to be in focus and everything closer and farther to be blurry.

also: you are gelfling.

there are 2 ways to do tilt-shift...

Photoshop (like Scott)

and then you can buy a special lens (like the pics that Sam posted)

It's usually pretty easy to tell the two techniques apart..especally when posted side by side.

I guess it's supposed to be easy...but I suck. No photoshop skills.
