Well, it's day 12 of cruise... only 5.63 months to go. I've gotta say it's a great ship. Of course I've been aboard for 7 months now and done the entire workup cycle so I knew that, but I've been on 3 other aircraft carriers for significant amounts of time, and another 4 or 5 for 1 week stints... and I gotta say, this is one fabulous boat.

I spend on average about 6hrs a day on the flight deck. I'd love to post some pics, but the ships server has a spaz when I try so it will have to wait until our first port-call here in a few weeks, and then you will see how awesome my job is. I love shooting, but I've also got 100 guys who work for me, and helping to manage their lives and careers is the real challenge.

The days go by fast, and there's always something going on when you're not "working"... I just watched Forrest Griffin get his *** kicked, and I can get mt.net, so basically I have everything I need. I wish they let us have booze like on British ships.

So, this is just a howyadoin lettin' everybody know I'm deployed and will get up some cool aviation/flightdeck pics as soon as we hit port.
