Paypal does NOT give the money back because they rely on the method of withdrawing the funds from the sellers account.. if I as a seller simply take the funds out first.. your out of your money. This has happened to me about 2x now. So now I pay everything with CCard through paypal, because CC companies actually DO get the money back.

 

Not quite true in all cases.

I got scammed from a textbook seller years ago. Seller had a 100% rating when I ordered. Never got the textbook and the seller dropped off the face of the earth, so much so that their account was no longer registered (and obviously then, no $$$ in it). After much hassle and waiting, I managed to get 100% of the money back from paypal.

 

Also not true because if you don't have any money in your PP account, they can just pull the funds from whatever bank account you use to process the refund to the buyer.

If you win the dispute, and they have no funds in their account, your SOL. The only thing paypal will do is freeze your account until you deposit more, then it goes straight to you.

Now, if you think paypal is going to do anything further, your wrong. I have one of these "no further actions" pending from like 4 years ago waiting for my 300 bucks back.

 

That is only applicable if the seller willingly attempts a refund. In the case of a dispute, Paypal does not have the authority to reach into bank accounts and withdraw funds. A Paypal representative personally told me this on the phone.

 

if this were the case, I'd surely have my $76 dollars back, Paypal could only "recover" $24 of it....odd.

Not sure why I got special treatment, but who am I to complain? Maybe it was just because the account that money would be recovered from didn't exist any longer, but who knows. If getting my money back makes me an ovary-wieldin' *****, then so be it. :gay:

 

I got screwed for $500 something and paypal gave me $200 back, I think if the seller has more than 50 feedbacks and its more than 98% positive the buyer is protected up to $2000 through paypal and if not its only $200, I learned that the hard way. But I'm pretty sure its different for eBay Motors.

 

ya but when you pay for it they will be like only money gram or that money transfer **** because once your moneys wired to another person, then you can never get it back.
