Default brake pad/rotor upgrade for minivans, small SUV's

I realize that this post is totally out of place at MT.net, but this is the only car forum I visit that's worth a ****, so I figured I'd ask. I daily a 2015 Sienna minivan with about 40k miles. I love it. I probably drive it in a more spirited fashion, and use it to haul more stuff around, than Toyota anticipated when they designed it for soccer moms and pensioners.

The weak point is the stock/OEM brakes, which are underdesigned for a 4700 lb. vehicle and are effing horrid. They often overheat, leaving deposits on the rotors that cause shudder and vibration. They no longer have any initial grip, which I attribute to the pads probably being badly glazed.

Has anyone tried "sport" type pads on a vehicle such as this? I see that Hawk makes HP Plus, HPS Street, and High Performance Street 5.0 pads for the van.

Also, is this an application where slotted rotors may provide some benefits? Centric makes a set that fit the van.

Slotted aren't going to help. Try the HP Plus for higher torque and temperature tolerance.
