i have never shipped anything major and it seems like they are always trying to rip me off when i go to ship something, even if not very heavy
what service do you guys use when shipping stuff like bumpers or trunk lids or hoods
i have a sale pending based on shipping to NY
i am selling my rear bumper and trunk to a guy in NY and just trying to keep the shipping reasonable
also, what service would you use if you had heavy objects, like control arms, or a head, or diff's, etc.
once i shipped brakes to canada and it cost me over $60 and they still havent gotten there after over two months, WTF, you know why im so frustrated over this now
end of rant, but please do help
thanks

Yeah, shipping big stuff sucks. I shipped two front spindles and hubs (25 lbs) to Oregon for $17. Shipping a 27 lb box that I made with wood ends and stapled double wall refrigerator box to fit a fender still came out to 27 lbs. Cost me $91 to ship to TX. This was after I quoted him $50 to ship.
Both shipped UPS and we have a 60% discount a work. FedEx will be cheaper. But for a bumper+trunk? You are looking at $150 due to the size.

Grey hound is cheap, but can take a load of time. Took a rear bumper cover 3 weeks to get from here (Raleigh) to Statesville. I was informed that was an exceptional case since I only paid for shipping, and priority goes to items attached to someone with a bus ticket. Things may have changed by now.
Shipped two irregular shaped packages today insured for $650 a piece weighing 83lbs a piece via DHL for close to $88-90. Apparently they don't care about shape after a certain weight amount so that didn't cost extra. I shipped wheels and tires though if you care.
Greyhound for BIG ****
DHL for rest if you can.
I hope your buyer is paying shipping, or you're going to take it up the ***. On body parts, you're going to pay dimensional rates. Large packages take up allot of room in the truck, you're paying for that space, not the weight.
Have you gone to UPS & FedEx online to check yet?
