Last November, my brother-in-law (from Baltimore) came down and we drove to Austin for F1 on US-281. US-281 is well West of I-35, out where there are a lot more oil/gas wells, cattle and horses than people. The speed limit is fast (bordering on non-existent), the hill country is pretty, and the other drivers (encountered rarely) are courteous. He was in utter shock. About the time the third pickup pulling a stock trailer pulled over to ease our pass, he came up with his theory. "Everyone in Texas has a gun, right?"

Why would the paint ball fly back and hit your car? It is already traveling at the same speed of the car before it is fired from the gun. Unless you have it turned down to kiddy levels of fps it should work just fine. I would not suggest doing it though.

Cause / Effect. An armed society is a polite society. I carry, and firmly believe that law abiding citizens should be able to do so, as long as they haven't displayed the sort of aggression and lack of self control that the Camry dude was displaying. I'll give long odds that this wasn't his first episode of acting out violently, and as someone with a history of violence he wouldn't be able to carry firearms. If the Camry guy was certain that the Mini driver was armed I'm sure he wouldn't have been so keen to act the way he was acting nor to escalate the level of violence had a collision actually happened.

I think he meant the paint splatter. Regardless, shooting paintballs wouldn't have served to do anything but escalate the situation; I think he (Mini driver) did the right thing in attempting to avoid and simply documenting the situation and hopefully provide the video and a tag number to the police.

If the receiver of the paintball gun was welded to the frame of the car, wouldn't the car then become part of the paintball gun? Officer, my paintball gun isn't concealed, you've actually got your hand on it this very minute as you are leaning on my car...

Alternative system to the paintball technique:
All cars come with a communicating vehicle immobilizer. If, within a 5 minute time span, 3 unique people select your license plate as an offensive driver, your vehicle notifies you (the driver) that you have 30 seconds to find a safe place to slow down/come to a stop. After that 30 seconds, your car is limited to 10mph for 10 minutes only to allow the driver to remain safe. (No shut-down on railroad tracks/intersections/etc.) Any driver who is subsequently found to be intentionally impeding the flow of traffic (driving 10mph on the freeway/roadway) is charged similarly to a DUI offense because of creating a danger on the roadway. All drivers have an override switch which allows the driver one override in a calendar year (I'm rushing to the hospital because my kid broke his arm).

Is this ridiculous? Yep.

Would it work? I dunno.

Would this system get abused? Of course it would.

Would I participate? Every damn day.

When is Obama going to buy me a hero cam? I want my Obamacam.

Drivers like this Camry fagoot are what make me wish I had an enormous 60's sedan (Pontiac Catalina anyone?) with a 5 point belt and a firm grasp of executing a PIT maneuver.

If I was the mini driver I would probably end up in jail for assault.

In Michigan, people still drive these.

Easy to out run, but hard to play bumper cars with.

I noticed that when i drove in texas. it was a nice driving experience for a change. Here in Pittsburgh sucks ***... hardly anyone here can drive, and they all seem to have road rage. Theres no politeness, and no sence of fluidity.
It was nice in missouri, so moving here was a big change for me. lol

WRONG!!!

Go to 1:00 in this video and watch this guy totally take out a cop car with an old school SHO taurus, then flee again while the cops were stuck with their thumbs up their asses...

Btw, the end of that video is AWESOME!
