I have an 86 Trooper II. I'm going to be doing a lot of bodywork on it and plan on painting it with Brightside Paints following Ausie Drivers method. However, I can't decide what color to paint it. Mine is a light blue/grey. I'm thinking of painting it black, as I think It would look pretty cool. My windows are already tinted 20%, so It would look like a big black box. My trooper also has a roof rack, rear spoiler, and a front brush guard that I was planning on painting to match the truck. I've also considered painting the truck white and then painting the bumpers, brush guard, roof rack, etc. black. Also considered 'steel grey', but I'm thinking I would like black better.
Anyway, just wondering if anyone would photoshop a trooper black or white. I have a picture of a 86 Trooper II attached, but it's not mine, and dosn't have the brush guard or roof rack, though it is the same color as mine.
If anyone has any ideas for a paint sceme let's hear them. A friend suggested painting it black with steel grey stripes, and paint the stripes into the brushguard. Not sure about that though.
Here's the color pallet from Brightside.

I've seen 2 brightsided cars in person. They looked good on the interwebz as .jpgs. They both looked like *** in person. I'd advise a different route. Even a $225 maaco job. Hell, if you prep the car well yourself, a maaco job doesn't look bad at all.
it's a trooper... rhino line it.
that **** is amazing. a rhino-lined body is literally bulletproof. there was a kick *** show on discovery about it. they had some army dudes poppin caps into it and they showed the impacts in super slo mo. the rhino lining just bends and deflects, and the bullets fall on the ground.
