And I wont do a turbo swap, the VF52 is a pretty sweet daily driver turbo that can hit 300whp.

Notice how I didn't start a thread: "I have a budget to buy a car, I dunno what to get, please all you gays a mt.net tell me what to buy"
I had been debating the WRX, MS3, V70r, and A4/S4 wagon for a while now. The WRX won out and now I get to own one this week. It's in pretty good shape, the color I wanted, only 40K miles, and the guy kept it relatively in good shape. The body is in good shape, a few scratches here and there, a bunch on the door handle cups I think I can buff out, but other than that theres no rust, it's stock and will be a fun versatile DD. I dont have to worry much about snow anymore, I can finally pass minivans on the highway, and I wont have to borrow my in-laws minivan as much when I need to transport small objects. I might be able to throw away my spool of twine now...I'm tired of having to tie my trunk-lid shut when objects are too large to fit in any of my other cars.
How much did you pay for it?
Note that a "stage 2" WRX with downpipe and exhaust and tune is faster than your miata. I was neck and neck with stage 2 WRXs back when I was at 10ish psi, gt3071 and 255hp on the York dyno.

That is $1000 of mods. Add a wideband and boost gauge and you are at $1250. Add a $100 tactrix and you can tune it yourself.
The way you do fuel with the "open source" tuning is a little unintuitive but it works. No megasquirt but the knock detection is legit, timing table and trims are ez, and logging is ******* awesome. Runs at something like 40hz yay.
