Default Chile Quake, Hawaii Tsunami and other impending doom...

Anyone have friends in the danger zones? I have friends in Waianae that are staying right on the beach 11 stories up. I sure hope they're heading to high ground right now. I'm curious what we'll see up and down the west coast.

For those of you living in a hole. 8.8 quake struck off the coast of chile. Big time damage there but doesn't look anywhere near as bad as Haiti. Tsunami's racing across the pacific basin at 400mph+ and Hawaii is under tsunami warning. West coast under tsunami advisory.

Saw this also... there are tsunami warnings all across asia as well and they may be evacuating the area my wifes family lives in. We'll just have to wait and see how bad the waves actually end up being.

About 20 minutes to go if speed is as predicted. Hope it fizzles out.

Watching the CBS streaming video. Hilo bay drained out some, right now it's filling back in. Looks like it's petered out some. They are still saying it's dangerous and could get worse but the initial surges out and in aren't huge.

Quite often the first couple surges aren't the largest...

Ya much less eventful than I had expected all around which is a good thing. Supposedly we're under a small tsunami warning now. Interesting...

It's been going for an hour and 1/2 now. Built up bigger but nothing huge. Whole tide came up another 2-3' .

latest earthquakes. 8.8 in Chile. 7.0 yesteday in Japan. 6.9 china/russia/korea border last week. 7.0 Haiti week before that. Has the space station been manned for the last month?

Most likely just coincidence but that sure is a lot of activity lately. I think its motivation enough for us to get a survival kit together (should have had one anyway) given the number of active volcanoes, faults, tsunami threats etc very near by.

For those of you who don't know, Chicagoland (yeah, Illinois) had a 4 point earthquake 2 weeks ago.

We're all gonna die.

I was in IL then and didn't feel it. I also had just gotten home from a very very long drive and was tired.

I think that this year may be a little bit more active, but with media coverage the way it is we probably just never really realized this **** happened so much.

Well mine takes .223 rounds and isn't made of stamped steel romanian garbage. As for Miles Dyson, I should've convinced Sarah Connor to kill him after the first CyberDyne systems model 101 was terminated, and none of this would've ever happened. Now there is so much more to be unleashed on the human race. We can make it. We can survive. We all need to turn toward the positive leadership of John Connor and we will prosper.
