GF is going to be pressing pretty hard to have a small tree in the apartment. Not sure why she loves xmas decoration so much, spice candles and all.

I haven't had a tree for probably 5 or 6 years. Until I have kids I don't see a point. So I should have at least another half of a decade to avoid vacuuming up all of those ******* needles the day after Christmas.

Fiance put one up last weekend at her place. I hate Christmas trees. Have to carry them, decorate them, vacuum up all the needles and then you have to wait until it dries up, carry the thing outside while getting stuck with needles (and dropping more that you have to vacuum up), load it into a pickup, drive all the way out to the state forest and then pitch it out of the bed on the side of the road without anybody seeing you.

This year, I'm getting a palm tree.

this is why they invented pre-lit collapsible synthetic trees.

Exactly, pull box out of shed, set up stand and three tree pieces, DONE!

Decorating the plastic tree, and finishing the house tonight. I think this year I am leaving the house lights off though.

This. I live on a dead end gravel road with no through traffic save the other three people that live on it. We have no kids, we have no one coming over for the holidays. It's pointless.

That said, we will be putting up a tree. We have 12' ceilings so we bought a a 10' tree a few years ago the day after Christmas for 50% off. Still spendy but much cheaper than buying a live tree every year, especially that tall. Short trees look like crap in our living room. I put up the tree only. Then I am done. My wife decorates it and the rest of the house. If she wants a bunch done? Great. If she only wants a little, that's fine, too.
