Default Comprehensive insurance FTW.

If you don't have it on your OTM, get it. This is about to cost my insurance company over $3700 to fix.

Came around a corner on the way back from WSIR on Saturday night and a ******* black cow was standing square in the middle of the road. I didn't quite realize what it was for a moment since it blended into the road, and then by the time I had figured out what was going on I was on top of it. ~60mph initial speed, I probably hit it doing 40ish. Fender, turn signal, door trim on front and rear doors, a dent in the c-pillar, and paint for the left front corner comes to $3750. If it had been two feet further to the right I'd probably be shopping for a new truck right now.

If I can polish the scuffs out of the door and trim panels, a PDR guy can definitely get the dent in the C pillar and a perfect fender looks to be around $500 with the trim molding. Hopefully I can end up a couple grand in-pocket.

I'll PM you my address. I like tenderloin. If you freeze it, it will get to me ready to grill.

Fixed...

Glad to hear you weren't hurt... how did the Miata fare or did the hamburger get back that far?

The cow tagged the fender of the rental trailer too, but it didn't do much damage. The Miata appears to have escaped unscathed.

Looking at that the cow might have walked away if you didn't break it's legs with the trailer. They do MAJOR damage and sometimes still walk away. I've seen them do more damage than that when the truck is sitting still.

Trucks in general look better with a little "character" added.

Modern trucks yes... mine has all the built-in "character" one could ever need. Ask Sav, he's seen it.

Eating free steak every night now?!?

Finding a junkyard fender in the same color as yours shouldn't be too tough. Buff the door and bed, bolt on 2nd hand fender and it'll look good as used for cheap.

Nah, my DD isn't worth $3700. Actually it's barely worth a third of that. Cheap *** beater FTW.

I was driving a VW Golf late at night after a Springsteen concert.
I came around a sharp bend and someone before me had nailed a cow hard.

It spread gallons of gore across the the road. Cow guts are almost as slippery as snow if you have enough quantity. I was sideways before I knew it and almost ended up in the woods.
