Default Contradictory instructions

My new apartment seems to have some rather complicated views on the subject of the recycling of plastic bottles and beverage cartons. The longer I stare at it, the more I feel like Winston from 1984.

It's not just the 18th floor trash room, either. I looked at all of them.

To make matters worse, I have looked at this sign for so long at this point that I feel I have a rather firm grasp of both its position and its momentum.

It's pretty simple, really: do not do recycle

It's called being cheap. They didn't want to make new signs, so they modified them. Now it is confusing, whereas it wasn't before.

At one time, plastic was not recycled. No economical way to separate it.

Then, they figured it out. Now we recycle everything. But, rather than make new signs, they pasted on that thing at the bottom, without realizing that it just makes things confusing.

If they pasted the bit on the bottom, why not paste a bit on the top to cover it?

Time to take matters into your own hands.

Seriously, just cover up the 2002 directive that conflicts and it will push the command to the revision. If the trash collection goes to hell, they will attempt a resolution (by slapping another layer on the sign).

Or you could go double Rogue by finding out who your trash company is and what their requirements are.

So there's recycling cans here for the usual, and a bin for batteries. They allll get dumped into the same dumpster.
