Thanks to Dave (Splitime) for telling me about this and linking me. So a lot of us are familiar with what happened to Jared getting totally fucked over for a 99 head he bought from a then named Noah member over there. It was more or less swept under the rug by the staff and the site owner. Well a couple years later, a few name changes, and now Noah (PYTHON) is a fucking forum admin. Its literally the biggest outrageous POS I've ever seen.

I've been a member over there for a long ass time, probably when there was only 50 or so members. Its funny though, cause in that time, I've only managed to make 29 posts. I knew there were reasons why I didn't hang out much there. Maybe its all the scum they keep around that has me turned off.

Not really. we don't need, nor do I advocate, to fuck with CR.net. Going over there and doing your thing in your own name is fine, as you can see I do the same, but we don't need to start forum wars 2.0 again. Neo dealt with Tim in a respectable manner and brought forth a rational "de-modding" of Noah and a group discussion on how they will further proceed.

FYI residents and mods:

No the way it shouldve been is that asshole shouldve been banned when he screwed me back in 07. No props at all to Tim at all for allowing noah to be a mod let alone still a member. If no one wouldve said anything, that pos would still be a mod. What the hell is ddos?

Its pretty awesome when you look at it from an execution standpoint. You can literally make a machine bluescreen, if its windows server or wtfever you call it for linux, from the pure amount of simultaneous requests. And it doesn't just stop there. They continue and continue literally shutting the site down. I don't condone it at all, but I definitely think its pretty amazing from a technical perspective.

i remember back in the mid 90s when people started doing them via IRC. pretty impressive by 1995 standards. you could be sitting there chatting away and then your shit reboots or whatever.

I personally like (not like, but think was interesting) back when there was a group hitting MPAA and RIAA sites. THey would set up pages that would reload over and over all images and large bandwidth data. You get a couple thousand people reloading the website without caching anything for a day or two and not only are they having to pay for that bandwidth, but a lot of times it over loads the servers too.

If I remember correctly, havent they ignored scammer assholes several times on there? Not really sure why youre all suprized that instead of banning, they give the guy a reward.

Assinine behavior will always amaze me. Unless Tim and Noah are harassed hardcore, this will be pushed under the rug like every other time somthing with this asshole has happened.

I encourage everyone to send legitimate PMs to Tim explaining how this is outrageous. If he gets enough intelligent PMs explaining why it is unacceptable that Noah is even still a member there then some good might come of this. I know that won't get Jared his $2k back, but I'm sure it will do a little to make him feel better about the whole situation.

Probably just wishful thinking though.
