... that's the interior of his car?

I just... I genuinely think this car might be a $5-6k car tops. I certainly wouldn't even give that much for it.

Wow.

Wow.
The craigslist ad was posted in my post. Please look at it lol. Read how he breaks down his pricing and justifies the price.

I looked at it, but the pic of the interior is super tiny in your post so I couldn't see it til you posted the larger photo.

Edit: and somehow I missed that you posted the actual link to the ad. Oopsies.

Impressive.

I've ridden in that car. I actually kinda really liked that cage, even though I understand there are some compromises. I contacted Moti and asked for a quote for that kind of work in an NB, but sadly we didn't get very far.

I'm not completely shocked at the price, but it is a bit high. If I had to guess he'd probably take less but the sticker shock will drive off most of the hard parkers and stancebros that are just looking for another Miata to ruin. Also, anything with that level of modification that still legitimately passes smog in this state is like a needle in a haystack. Just having a car look like that will get you laughed out of most smog shops around here. Plus, remember where his shop is located and his target audience.

I'm not saying its justified, but I see where its coming from.

In other craigslist news, I sold my subaru. Now to get rid of the 6ULR's and my seadoo.

Glad you didn't, those welds and the leg breaker placement of the A pillar bar is no bueno.

1991 Pit Crew Mazda Miata 1.8 swap JDM RARE - $9800(Austin) hide this posting

image 1 of 10

1991 Mazda Miata

fuel: gas
title status: clean
transmission: manual
1991 Pit Crew Mazda Miata 1.8 swap JDM RARE
Located in Austin, TX. Clear TX title, registered.

120k mi

This has the most iconic nose conversion made for the NA - an extremely rare Pit Crew Racing front end imported from Japan. It's a love or hate conversion, but it sure is a conversation starter. If you don't know - this front end is $3100 alone, plus $400 chrome bumpers, PLUS $600 shipping from japan... that's unpainted and uninstalled. There are only a handful of miata's in the USA (4 including this one, to my knowledge) with this front end conversion! If you are familiar with the 'miata scene', the nose came from the "Blue Potato" and this was previously Phillyb's "Pitcrewb". Planet Miata performed the 1.8L swap with a 120k engine, the body has ~120k on it. Theu also performed a wire tuck to clean up the typically cluttered miata engine bay. If you are familiar with Miata's, you'll know the cost/rarity/desirability of many of these parts and know that several of these are no longer available. A little more love and this will be one unique, retro miata.

I have fixed *many* things on it since I have had ownership and have put on many parts that I've collected over owning 12+ miatas. I had lots of plans for it, but unfortunately I don't have extra parking space here and no longer have a place to work on it. Notable additions include a Hard Dog Stainless roll bar, Boig Header and Artech V-band 3" exhaust, Miataroadster short shifter kit, Trackspeed radiator, 93LE parts, and everything marked new below....

Exterior:

Pitcrew front end with chrome front bumpers
Hella H4 headlights
S800 mirrors
Zoom Side winker turn signals
Zoom fuel lid
Autokonexion Ducktail 1.5
Euro rear finish panel
Zoom tail lights
OEM Hardtop (no headliner/defrost)
Jass hardtop side brackets
NO convertible top
Project G Bikini top custom fitted for
Hard dog Double Diagonal HC Stainless polished roll bar (No longer available, $2500)
-gold rollbar shown in one of the pictures was removed and replaced
949 Racing 6UL 15x8 Nickel wheels

Interior:

Lecarra polished hub (new)
Motolita steering wheel (new)
Billet Motolita horn button with Revlimiter Elanor badge (new)
Stainless door sills with Revlimiter inserts (new)
Redline Leather wrapped cluster hood
Revlimiter gauges
KG Works black retro cluster
Aerodramatics needles
Redline Leather wrapped tombstone
Aerodramatics metal door pulls and door locks
Nielex silver door cups (new)
RS Products HVAC with spun silver *****
KG Works rear view mirror
Revlimiter Retro hazard switch
Revlimiter Retro window switch
Revlimiter Chrome Vent Rings
Garagestar polished brake handle (new)
Garagestar delrin door bushings (new)
Miataroadster tall angled short shift kit (new, just rebuilt shifter, new shift boots, delrin bushings)
93LE interior door panels with retro 93LE speaker covers
93LE seatbelts
93LE red rear carpet
Retromodern simplicity oil cap (new)
Retromodern machine polished ignition cover (new)
Retromodern lighter dummy plug (new)
Cocomats red and black checkered mats (new)

Engine:

ARP hardware for crank pulley
Gates racing accessory belt (new)
Trackspeed Dual Core Race Radiator (new! this alone is $600, also performed a Zerex Asian Coolant flush)
FM lower silicone hose (new)
Modified Bob Boig road race header - his is the header that is on all the Top EP GTlite and GT2 miatas. Built for high HP, high revving engines. 1 3/4x 31" primaries, merge collector into 7 degree divergent nozzle into 3" vband ring. Nitroplated. This header was designed for ~200+whp GT motors originally. I modified by replacing the 2" collector with the 7* divergent nozzle to 3" vband ring that are on it now. These haven't been available in ~10 years (new)
Artech Custom 3" Vband exhaust with Magnaflow muffler and flex pipe (new)
Stainless clutch cable
Flyin Miata Happy meal clutch
FC3S clutch type LSD in 1.8 housing with 4.10 gear
Beatrush Aluminum radiator Panel
Garage star black powdercoated cowl panel
Duracell AGM battery (new)

Suspension:

Manual rack
KYB AGX
Suspension techniques sway bars
Hawk HP pads with 1.8 brakes (i believe)

Negs:
The paint job is a 15 footer - the hardtop has typical chips around the edge. Needs a good clean.
The nose has some chips on the bottom as it used to have a TRAP lip mounted to it, but the previous owner broke it off.
No console, unless you buy the Zoom console from me or a bare Zoom fiberglass console.
Dash crashpad will be black unless you purchase the 93LE dash with car.
Will need some new tires
NO AC
Drips a small amount of oil

I have a 93LE complete dash available 93LE carpet, plastics, and seat belts if you would like to complete the 93LE red interior conversion. I also have many other miata parts for a turbo build.

Additional things I have for sale that are NOT included with the car:

-Zoom Console Type 1 console - black anodized / black leather armrest $600
-Zoom Type 2 Black leather Radio cover (3 gauge, both silver and black faces) $475
-93LE plastics/carpet/dash $500 with car purchase.
-Full painted OEM control arm set installed ES poly bushings, never used. upper ball joints need replacing $500
-Boundary Street Billet Oil pump BNIB $260
-Rare rearview mirror with built in Map lights PNP! $150
-Flyin Miata Flex Fuel Kit with FM 1.6 purple rail $850
-Odyssey PC680MJ with billet battery bracket $175
-McIntosh double din radio from Subaru CD and tape in a DDMworks din adapter.
