Very nice deal here

1993 M Miata MX5, Topeka Ks

1993 Mazda Miata MX5 convertible 5-speed -$4750

new clutch and drive shaft along with many other newly replaced parts
Right after I bought this car I put $2700 into it in repairs and since then have replaced the clutch and about $700 in other parts.
It runs great and I put so much money into it because I never thought I'd sell it but now I need a vehicle with much more room in it so I'm looking to sell this Miata NOW.
231,000 miles with minor aesthetic issues.
Alpine stereo with Kenwood speakers.

IF REQUESTED I can gather all receipts from parts replaced and go to the dealership I got it worked on and print off the documents showed all the repairs and replacements.

I am not doing it, but ...

from solomiata

"The RX-7 Turbo II and TT rears are larger and stronger yet with an 8" ring gear. The TII rear will bolt to the Miata subframe since it uses the same 'wing' type frame mounts but requires modifying the PPF to accept the long pinion front housing (also using the Miata specific mounting bushings). A shortened drive shaft will need to be custom made with the larger TII pinion flange and the smaller Miata transmission yok and then having the larger TII specific halfshafts resplining to fit the smaller Miata hub. The 93+ TT rear has a short pinion and uses a similar PPF mounting on the front housing, but unfortunatley it does not use the wing type frame mounts and something would have to be fabricated. The diff housing designs between the TII and the TT are quite a bit different so unlike the Miata and NA RX-7 where the housing parts can be mixed 'n matched, the TT front housing cannot be bolted to the TII rear housing."

Plus:

(also from solomiata)

"differential shaft diameters and splines:
7" small axle = 25mm x 24 spline (808, RX-3, 79-83 RX-7)
7" large axle = 27mm x 26 spline
7" S2000 = 29mm x 28 spline
7.5" small axle = 27mm x 26 spline '84-03 B2000/B2200 & early 95-97 Sportage
7.5" large axle = 29mm x 28 spline ('98-05 Sportage)
8" = 31mm x 30 spline. TT/TII/929"

Fair enough.

I just haven't seen any info which suggests that the GTU got the Turbo-II differential. What little information I have (Wikipedia and similar) suggests that the VLSD in the GTU car was a standard 7" FC LSD with the difference that a model-specific 4.30 R&P specific to that option package, and that the parts carryover with the Turbo-II, aside from the brakes, was mainly cosmetic.

Kind of like someone mistaking a Azure-package Miata for an LS. It's got all the fancy cloth and leather bits, but not the 6-speed or the Tochigi-Fuji diff.

I make no claims in terms of being knowledgeable of RX7 configurations My brain remembers odd obscure things, and I read a lot. I saw the listing, recalled the solomiata text, and posted without further investigation. In my experience, you have to be Johnny-on-the-spot for true CL gold mines. My expectation is that anybody who would ever consider such a swap would know exactly what they were looking for and be ready to pull the trigger.

You are most likely right Joe (because you usually are). I would hope that anybody even considering something like this swap would know if the diff in this listing is viable.

That's a dangerous assumption. My greatest talent is being a reputable and authoritative bullshitter.

My god... did he bolt the spoiler to the trunk lid with metal stock? That looks like the material you get in the shelving kits from home depot.
