It's usually the same guys that tell you that 15x9's are completely unacceptable on a Miata, and oem 14x6.5 with 185's is perfection

I know not of said internet lore. It was my own assessment from having had a 2JZ and knowing how ******* heavy they are. Its got to be at least twice as heavy as the little ****** that came in that car. It's also a long motor, so a good portion of its weight is ahead of the front wheels. Are you suggesting this car would carry the same handling chops as it did originally?

And who said anything about a LS Miata? Would you put a 2JZ in a Miata?

Runs and drives but needs work and a new LF fender. Has cool body style with the front that looks like a GTO and I have a clear Florida title in my name $3,800.00 cash call

Certainly not worth the asking price, but very few on Craigslist are. I would say it's an interesting $2,500 car. Wagons have lots of useful space there's plenty of pulling torque in a 389.

Its not the pulling torque, its how well you can stop whats behind you when towing. I have some friends who use an old buick roadmaster to tow with. They use a car dolly, and its crappy lemons cars on the dolly. It is always funny to watch them in it. It goes slow, but so far has worked surprisingly well for them.

That buick roadmaster, if it has the towing package (easily spotted by the dual exhaust) has a corvette engine in it. Only difference is the cam. I know because I had a 95 caprice wagon, and it is so. Brakes might be iffy on those vehicles compared to modern offerings. Actually, absolutely iffy compared to modern offerings. I mean my Odyssey has 4 channel ABS, and the transmission proactively downshifts to engage engine braking even without Tow mode engaged - transmission logic that late 90's cars could only dream of.

I dream of a Caprice wagon / Buick Roadmaster wagon duramax/allison swapped with ABS. I would tune that ************ and drive the **** out of it. 1000hp is easy.

I almost posted that price, but felt it might be a bit presumptuous on my part. I, personally, hate wagons, but I know some people go gaga over them.

This is a pretty interesting find. I'm tempted to drive down and take a look if the weather is at all decent this weekend.

Porsche 911 engine in Boxster - $9900 (Lexington KY) hide this posting

2000 porsche boxster

condition: excellent
cylinders: 6 cylinders
drive: rwd
fuel: gas
odometer: 95000
paint color: white
title status: clean
transmission: manual
I am selling my 2000 Porsche Boxster which has had a 3.4 liter 911 engine swapped into it. It is a 5 speed manual and in great condition. This car has gone from 217 hp to 315 hp because of the engine and tune. It is a blast to drive! The engine came out of a 2000 911 and was done 12 years ago by the previous owner in his own garage. He is a very reputable Porsche expert who has been referenced in Porsche how-to books. This specific car was even referenced in a popular Porsche project manual. I have full history of this car over the past 15 years or so, and contact information for the owners. This is easily the most handling and power bang for your buck you can get in a Porsche. Clean title and no accidents. I am asking only $9,900. Call or txt

It's always kind of annoyed me that Porsche refuses to put the Boxster on top of a really good engine...

You said "really good engine" not "nuclear reactor disguised as an ICE."
