Yeah but we're talking about washing cars:giggle:

Braineack 09-07-2012 10:26 AM

Washing cars is easy. I'm not too lazy to wash a car. but I do use brake dust treatment on my wheels.

18psi 09-07-2012 10:29 AM

dafuq is that?

I think I need some if it works good cause I want these pretty flat outs to stay so fresh and so clean

Braineack 09-07-2012 10:39 AM

just a spray treatment after you wash the car and dry the wheels. it makes it hard for brake dust to adhere to the wheels and makes cleaning them easier.

18psi 09-07-2012 10:42 AM

is it messy/oily?

Braineack 09-07-2012 10:47 AM

no. it's a freaking spray bottle dude.

http://shop.advanceautoparts.com/web...erm=brake+dust

i put it on before i use my wet look crap.

New starter is running strong, no FaelFlora noises.

"Oh they slicks brah"

Braineack 09-12-2012 08:30 AM

To the used tire store I go!

18psi 09-12-2012 08:38 AM

Holy crap bro I bet those bad boys hold a solid 2g into a corner

Braineack 09-12-2012 08:48 AM

I bet I could out autox you in that car. I'm being completely serious.

18psi 09-12-2012 08:52 AM

LOL fuck no.....Since my miata is slow right now I'm actually taking corners in it so I'm not such a noob. Yesterday I took a freeway onramp that was rated 45 at 46...That's right, I'm basically a pro now.

Next on the agenda is relocating everything to the trunk so the car has 40f/60r distro....Then datalog with markers and tape of course......What do you know about throttle response? That's right nothing....Be gone n00b

Braineack 09-12-2012 09:10 AM

I autoxed that thing for 4 years. I was a master of STS.

YOLO

God I love this shop. I've used them a few times. Got two tires mounted & balanced and drove off the lot in under 10 minutes. no lie. they pulled my car up at 12:08 and I was on the road at 12:17.

and now i can get this failed sticker removed tomorrow.

Car is 70000 times smoother now. lol.

18psi 09-12-2012 01:38 PM

How much?

Braineack 09-12-2012 01:42 PM

$114 after taxes.

18psi 09-12-2012 01:46 PM

brand new?

Braineack 09-12-2012 01:49 PM

did you really ask that?

y8s 09-12-2012 01:56 PM

did you get four tires for 114?

Braineack 09-12-2012 02:02 PM

no, just two. they were $114 mounted and balanced after taxes. they charge $20 to mount and balance plus a $6 disposal fee, so they were technically something around $30 each.

18psi 09-12-2012 02:20 PM

I ask because I bought used tires for the wife's TSX, with like 99% tread still on them, no cracks or anything else abnormal, for $120 out the door and they did it in less than 20 min..

Braineack 09-12-2012 02:36 PM

oh okay, gotcha.

yeah these were some of the better I've bought from them. They had another matching pair that were lower tread and cracking. these actually look pretty great.

in other news, the miata's a/c is fixed. not only was the condensor leaking, but once we bolted it back together and started filling it, it was leaking out of all the old o-rings and we had to replace pretty much every single one in the engine bay...

it held pressure overnight and is now blowing ice freaking cold; just in time for fall.

keep in mind these are my rear tires.

thenuge26 12-06-2012 02:11 PM

Uh... maybe time for an alignment?

Bold move putting slicks on your rear tires. Surely you will beat those ricer civics now!

How does that happen. What kind of tire?

$114 old used tires is how that happens.

Braineack 12-06-2012 03:15 PM

the fronts I put on form the same used tire dealer two years ago are still fine. I've been rear ended thrice...I dont believe my car tracks very straight, the wear patterns indicate I have like major toe in or postive camber in the rear. The line on the inside edge is actually part of the tread., the line on the outside is the cords :)

Plus im that good of a driver...I can get the tail out on that thing. We've been a team since 2001 and I learned how to autox in this damn car, and I was beating most people in my class.

18psi 12-06-2012 06:16 PM

holy shit. this car has been rear ended more than hustler. please explain why this shitbucket isn't sold yet.

actually dont. just sell it

Efini~FC3S 12-07-2012 10:53 AM

MAX toe out in FWD will make the rear in rotate pretty well

It will also wear out your tires way faster than camber ever will

Braineack 12-07-2012 11:04 AM

seriously, when i hit bumps, i feel the car lurch in the rear, like it doesn't follow the front of the car straight. So I acutally rock side to side when i go over a speed bump or imperfections in the road.

Doesnt matter, car is getting sold, I was just hoping the last set of tires was the last damn money I needed to put into it. I was also stupid and I've been driving it a lot lately instead of the miata, which would have prevented this.

But as soon as I purchase the replacement this is going on the market. I've been looking, just tying to get a good deal on a WRX.

triple88a 12-07-2012 12:25 PM

Personally i think you should bend up the other tires too so they all travel in the same direction. You'll definitely get looks when all tires are crooked one way and the car travels sideways a few degrees.
