here
it's not sudden, but it became a problem after going to a turbo with a much larger hotside, and catless really hi-flow downpipe, and equal length header.
And the "problem" is only at low rpm, which is really weird. it's a pulse more than just noise. you can feel the pressure, if that makes sense

urrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrggggggghhhhhhhhhhhh
I need one real bad.
found one on fleabay. not sure cause it doesn't really state spring pressure or anything. But it's $40, which is good IMO.
Basically I'm trying to figure out a way to tone down the low end pulses on the WRX.
It has a KillerB "holy" header, which flows amazing.
It has a blouch 10cm hotside which flows amazing.
It has a 3", very free flowing exhaust setup which flows amazing.
At WOT and at high rpm, it sounds amazing.
.....but,
At low rpm, I'm talking 1500-2100, I have some serious exhaust pulses/noise that is annoying, that goes away just past 2100rpm.

Ahh I See. Is the exhaust tip pointing downwards at all? Does the tip extend out past the edge of the bumper?
Fixing those two issues made me not have to install my flapper mcflapflap.
EDIT: I'm interested in seeing your dyno changes if you weld this into your exhaust though.

It's a Cobb quad-tip slant tip exhaust. The tips are only a tiny bit slanted, and no it's not pointing down. Yes they go just a tiny bit past the bumper. It's a really quality piece that actually sounds really quiet on any other setup but mine (my setup right now is, IMHO, perfectly maxed out, 10/10 flowing about as good as it can)
I too am hoping it doesn't hinder the flow too much
What I'm even more interested in is a 2-bolt 3" electronic cutout so I can place it directly into the stream and be able to open it on commant rather than waiting for pressure to do it, but it doesn't seem like that's a thing

Add a "T" right before the muffler, at the 2 bolt flange. Add ~7.25 feet of pipe to the T, with a flat plug at the opposite end. Let me know if that helps...it should for 1800rpm, 800°F air.

no no, it wouldn't be dumping to atmo, just restricting on demand.
stock muffler, at this flow/power level would literally fall apart inside and start to rattle like crazy.
Unless I absolutely never floored it without the cutout open
did that with the fxt. stock muffler didn't last long.
it also sounded so terrible it was embarrassing
stage2-ish power levels it would be totally fine though (and what I'd do if I were there)

In the 3+ years ive owned this car, I cannot for the life of me determine if it has a cabin air filter. AC has always been weak, but now it is ridiculous. On full blast it feels like my other cars on 25%.
So, does my 05 legacy GT have a damn cabin filter or not? Or do I have blend door issue or something?
If it does have one, how do I get to it?
Also just took her through emission a few minutes ago. The irony of working at a state run, gov mandated facility while having a 6" diameter, bright red anarchy "A" tattooed on your neck is palpable.

My 04 WRX has provision for one, but it was not installed when I bought the car. I picked up a filter and installed it, now I don't have to clean the dash as often
Right behind the glove box on top of the blower motor, super easy to replace.
