and people complain that Miata turbo kits cost too much, that kit cost $7k and has about the same stuff as a full blown FM2 or BEGi Stage 3 and up.

Very nice.

I take it that's a "back window" intercooler?

Yeah, and it's not even a very nice manifold. Just looks like a coated JGS log mani.

Yeah, but.. There's pretty much zero space between the exhaust and the Exige's "trunk"..

Fun fact: The US market mandates the inclusion of a phosphorescent (sp?) pull handle in the Elise/Exige "trunk", even though it's only big enough for a handbag..

The GT28RS and box labeled "Aquamist" are probably a big chunk of the cost.

The BEGi and FM cast manifolds take up no more space and would flow better. But, I'm sure the market is fairly small for these guys.

Well, I didn't even notice the Aquamist 1S system; that's ~$550 right there. Plus, it's got a pre-programmed Hydra ECU with four new injectors. That's ~$1500-2000 right there.

Oh, but I just saw that FM's new kits, even with the new Hydra and injectors, are still $5k. I thought I remembered them going up in price, but I guess they actually came down a little bit.

Well, anywho...smaller market, bigger price.
