You would save more money by packing PB&J sandwiches in a cooler for the trip instead of buying food on the road if you are really splitting hairs. Over inflate the tires if you want to do something useful and easy.

You're gonna get shot at in ABQ. Everyone gets shot at in ABQ.

Yep. Like I used to always do for track days.

Loaf of bread, pound of meat, half pound of cheese (mayo/mustard), some chips, a few granola bars, and some bananas.

I grew up Compton adjacent and worked military security. I should be fine. Plus don't kick the wasp nest and don't get shot usually. Random crime is everywhere. I've actively researched to try and minimise the threat.

House I looked at today was west Albuquerque and north of the 40. Just below Taylor Ranch. One of the nicer neighborhoods of the area. Not bad and within upper budget. Should be okay while I finish school. Garage is only 2 cart and low ceilings, but that seems normal for around here.

Southern humidity is an acquired tolerance. Growing up here, I barely notice it. I just learned to do most activities in the morning or late evening if I can. Any other time, I try to be near the pool. Let me know if you have any more Miata parts you don't want to move.

While in ABQ, be sure to check out the giant spray-foam roadrunner.

I gotta big truck. I wish I had my spare CB radio for it. It's gonna be a convoy, and when I put a rock under the tire it'll be a ROCK. Not some silly little thing no bigger than a grapefruit.

So far it's the wife and her ST, dad driving my Jeep with his bike on a flat bed, and me in the 26ft truck with a car hauler with my Miata on it. I should have the ST clean the air for me and I clean it for the Jeep haha.

So far so crappy. Had more stuff than realized. That's normal. Also dropped my.dads bike and folded my knee and tore up the guts inside. Can barely walk, so unloading the truck.isnt happening. Poor wife will do most of it. I crushed my ankle.years ago, but my cane is halfway in the truck.

That's one of my biggest fears- injuring myself during a move when there's still work to do. Don't push the wife too hard.

That hotel chair looks familiar- Holiday Inn Express?

Well we are finally in. I feel you Joe. I watched my wife, wobbly father, and realtor unload the truck. I grabbed some small stuff when they stopped paying attention to me so I could feel a little useful. Hospital says nothing broken after dealing with it for over a week. For anyone wanting government run health care just ask a vet how fun the VA is. Can't get seen until October for anything, except the ER haha. So far only issue with the house is one roof leak. Issue two is lack of garage space, but I has shed so I may luck out. Keep an eye out for a few more threads from me. I need to learn some tuning stuff as I've pushed that down the priority list for too long. Also I need to smog the Miata and I'm on standalone and no cat. Saw this little guy on the way out here. I am getting a little lustful for the fastback look.
Dooode, double rainbow.
Damn squirrel making nests under my roof tile.

Hey, I live in ABQ! Well, just outside of it now, in Edgewood. Always down to meet new car enthusiasts!

I used to think that, and wanted to move to ABQ, the worst possible way.

No jobs, unless one is a cop, govt bureaucrat, military or military contractor. Nothing else pays well,. Housing is not as cheap as most people think, and crime is a lot worst than most people realize.

Don't get me wrong, I'd move to Taos or Angel Fire, if I had a wife and I was ready to retire. But NM is not better than CO, not even close. It can be a good lower priced substitute though!

Well, you claimed NM has no jobs, housing is too expensive for what it is, and there is nothing but criminals. I live in the shitty, flat part of NM and I don't have as dim of a view as you seem to.

Damn, I thought cry babies were tossed around this site.

New Mexico Unemployment rate: https://www.abqjournal.com/1049951/n...d-highest.html

Colorado Unemployment rate: Colorado?s unemployment rate ? at 2.3 percent ? remains at historic low level that no other state is beating ? The Denver Post

That means that NM unemployment is roughly 3 times higher.

Colorado Economy: Colorado?s overall economy is thriving ? but not all communities are making gains, new survey shows ? The Denver Post

NM economy: https://www.abqjournal.com/1041821/n...dp-growth.html

I can keep proving my point ALL DAY LONG. Facts are facts, if they bother you, there is simply NOTHING I can do about it.
