You are more than welcome to come, but I don't want to promise dyno time that I can not guarantee at this point as I only reserved the morning block of dyno time as I wasn't expecting as many cars. You will more than likely get on, but I'd hate to say you will and not have the time. Like I said, the dyno guys would surely do their best to get you on, but no promises. Just for reference, IIRC on the second dyno day we had 6 cars and we were at the dyno until around 1:30ish and the third dyno day we had ~8-9 cars and we were there until ~3ish.

seriously, if they let us just control the brake ourselves things would go a lot faster, half the time we were waiting for the operator to pull a thumb out his his *** :gay:

Fair enough, and thanks. Looking forward to it.

I'm estimating that my car is around 205hp/195tq, based on dyno sheets of similar configurations. Will be really nice to know based on science!

That's exactly what I was thinking...using the same dyno for most accurate results to mods I've done since the last dyno day.

I'll have the same setup except for a 18x12 ebay core (instead of starion) and 2.5" plumbing instead of 2". May be good for everyone here to know if larger intercoolers and plumbing does anything significant.

Edit: actually i'd be better if I sell my old pipes before knowing how much better the new stuff is. ha.

Good thing it's the second weekend of november...if it were the third I'd have a conflicting drift event in PA.

Soo I'm too lazy to find threads and read...Scott wtf? your sig, I knew about the coupler, you blew coolant and lost a drive shaft?!?. Jeez, as if the smokey stuff out the back wasn't enough...which btw scared the crap out of Cora on your first dyno pull...I'm pretty sure you sprayed her with oil, or does something else ***..i mean come out your tail pipe?

That's my artwork there (facebook grafitti wall). Scott has had a rough time getting his car back up to speed.

when he was rebuilding his motor he had problems with his head gasket and kept overheating. he also had a leaky water pump I think? then a few weeks ago at the fuddruckers meet he had this AWFUL noise and it turned out to be his driveshaft was held on with a bolt and a half. nearly no bolts.

so it's been a fun year for el brain-o

No kidding, if he doesn't put down a minimum of 230whp I'm going to beat him like a redheaded stepchild.

he actually missed a few other things, all happening within my melted pistons fiasco, that he could have pointed out.

the leaking coolant could illustrate a few various problems, after swapping the block a few leaks have occured: water pump gasket as I first filled it up with water, blown head gasket within 25 miles, intake manifold gasket as I installed it backwards.

he forgot/missed my burst power steering line.

the coupler just happened last weekend.

the drive shaft happened a few weeks ago at a Mazda meet. I noticed a slight vibration in boost and decided after the meet I'd park the car and look at it on the weekend. However I was smart and took a friend out to feel the powah. The vibration got worse so I came back into the lot (after I was like, hmm feels like my driveshaft is out of balance), the drive shaft pulled away from the diff flange and started hitting my PPF as it rotated. It was only held on by 1.5 bolts. I untightened them by hand and replaced in the lot. :gay:

you will not get anymore oil/soot blown at you anymore, this new engine is much better in that department. last year it was a combination of too much fuel (no ow sensor/bad tune) and horrible blow-by. remember the random smoke when we drove home...that engine was always on it's last legs.

and yes brian, I hope to make between 220-230rwhp.

there are probably a few things I missed/left out (purposely), but that's the jist of my Murphy's law.

Like I mentioned in the beginning, there are a few guys who have dibs from months ago so they go first (you know who you are ).

This was supposed to be a smaller semi-tuning dyno day (thanks paul....cough...cough), but it seems to be getting bigger. I'm sure the dyno guys (who are really relaxed and accomodating) will stay later to get people on the dyno, but a bunch of us were really looking to hit the kart track as well so some people who get on early might leave earlier to hit the kart track. Just trying to be upfront now, in case people who haven't let me know start showing up and get pissed that they didn't get dyno time. Just for reference, getting a car on and off the dyno for just 3-4 power pulls (without any adjustments/etc...) takes at least 30 minutes per car and we start at 9am.

There will be a bigger repeat dyno day in the spring so if you can't make it, or don't get on, or your car is not ready yet, do not fret. Spring dyno day will definitely be more of a hang out day with food and maybe even prizes....
In terms of prizes, we'll see what happens, but it'd be fun to do something that evens the playing field like RWHP divided by engine size divided by psi of boost so the most "efficient" power maker wins...we'll see...
so much for that https://www.miataturbo.net/announcement.php?f=4
