No shadow of a doubt that the car was on cheater slicks to do that time. It has a beam rear axle and looks like a matchbox car. Do the smart thing and buy the Focus RS.

I read it and was like oh BTG. Good time...
But damn. No way it's on street tires.
Also, didn't the ZR1 and Nismo GTR absolutely crush this time?

That is some horrible writing and/or translation. I expect that level of crappiness in my posts on here.
".....it’s time at least on the paper to find out more. It’s time to find out how these 305 hp behaves and transmits to the surface regardless of the many Japanese experts who have been devising how to mitigate the negative option “too many horses – front-wheel drive”.
I don't know much about domestic press here in the states because I don't bother watching it, but Japanese press does have a major fanboi bias IME.
Can't wait to see what the Focus RS costs vs this. Ford has a ton of experience in high TQ turbo FWDs at this point, and they are doing an AWD car that will compete with Mustangs. That does not bode well for FWD performance north of 300HP.

Yeahhhh... That really seems unlikely/not totally honest (the Honda time, OR the Nismo GT-R time). Hmm.
You're assuming the one you'll be able to buy (here in the United States of Merika) is going to have a beam rear axle?

that type r looks like a ricer got hold of an Aztek and bolted on every ebay part he could find.
look at the starting point:

now end point:

is that normal to mark time before a full lap?

If you look at his GPS location on the track you can tell he has completed a full lap if not just over a full lap. He is lapping the track in a counterclockwise direction as you can see the track is curving to his right which would coincide with his location on the map. Still would not own that car. It looks so rice.
Unless of course I am seeing something incorrectly in those two pictures.
