Favorite local roads to rip around on...post yours
Here are a few roads I ALWAYS rip around when I go out for a drive (All out in the middle of nowhere since I dont like being stupid around developed areas with lots of homes)...All are 5 minutes or so from both my job and home....its nice to be able to go out on lunch for a quick rip .....There are tons of other roads I go on, but they would'nt be much to look at in photo form...
LYMAN ORCHARDS (Middlefield, CT)

Pent Rd. Durham

Wallingford Reservoir (Awsome stretch...about a mile of twists, turns, elevation changes, no homes or intersecting roads, and very little traffic since its out in the middle of farm land)

You should be happy it isn't as bad as here. The whole state is a grid on one mile sections.
My favorite road that I drive (semi) regulary is in Southern MO. http://www.mapquest.com/maps?city=No...::::f:EN:M:/eI go to Fayetteville AR quite a bit for work. On the ride down from Joplin, Hwy 90 crosses Hwy 71. It's about 15 miles each way to Noel MO. I go out and back and then continue on to Fayetteville.

I don't have any good roads around me. They're all too twisty and turny.
US129 The Tail of the Dragon
US28 Hellbender
Wayah Road
Cherohala Skyway
Foothills Parkway
Hwy32 The Road to Nowhere
US421 The Snake (Shady Valley, TN)

This will be my daily drive from home to school next semester. I've made it a few time both on bike and in Miata, and look forward to doing it MWF. The fun part is 1097 over the lake, and 149 through Sam Houston National Forest. The other half of the trip isn't bad, bland in comparison but waaay better than interstate between Houston and College Station that I've done for past 2 years.
