It looks like a toyota to me, probably a sequioa.

On both generations of the highlander the rear passenger windows are split vertically, and that doesn't appear to be the case in the photo of the car on fire.

that's not even close. but i still think it's a toyota.


look at the c pillar, the side-view mirror, the side paneling, the rear fender flare.

I first thought it was too tall to be a Forester but now I see it. I think it was the angle that it was perched on the side of the bank that threw me off.

We have a winner. '08 or earlier Subaru Forester. The notch in the bottom corner of the window and horizontal line above the rear tire are the distinguishing marks to me.

Man. I just showed up late. Took a glance and knew it was a Forester, that rear fender and taillight is distinctive.
