Default FM cam gear ninja tool knock off??

Well maybe you can't call it a "knock off" I suppose, but stumbled on this 3D printed tool.

I'm more of a two open end wrenches and a vise grip kinda guy, but maybe this is cool. I haven't seen it posted, thought Id share

Looks like its shipping from Israel..

I always thought that was a stupid tool, because if I’m doing the timing belt/water pump I’m also going to be doing the cam seals which involves removing the cam pulleys. However, you can find a knockoff of that on Thingiverse and 3d print one for almost free if you’re so inclined.

I think it’s a great tool, especially if you have bigger cams and / or stiffer springs it makes it a whole lot easier to keep the cams from flopping around when putting the belt on.

I haven't found it useful for anything besides opening beers. But if i'm near a Miata, there's two beer openers built in anyways.

This is the tool I use. it seems to work well by locking the cams in place independent of the gears. But being realistic, it doesn't offer much of a benefit over a pair of crescent wrenches with a vice grip locking them together.
