The sti driver can, kinda.
The evo, don't think so.
And I don't really see the point in disengaging the rears all the time, people have tested this and the resulting power/efficiency "improvements" were laughable
What's the weight on this bad boy btw? I bet it's a porker and ~3500

Doesn't look like they've published a curb weight, but I'd guess somewhere north of 3500. The current Focus ST weighs in just over 3200.

I've been driving a Fiesta ST for about a year now. Great little car at 2700lbs. Curious to see what a faster/fatter/awd "version" would be like.

I bet Golf Rs can be had even a bit cheaper with all this mess going on. But when the regular GTI is so much cheaper.....

But then you're stuck with a VW.

I genuinely believe the VW is just as good of a car as the Ford (talking in terms of reliability)

Yeah, but those studies include stuff like, "I'm an idiot and can't make Ford Sync work?" type stuff as well?

looks cool. So many fast cars today. Turbo stock miata was once very fast. Now slow and manloving again. Happy day for new cars. Sad day for tuners with old slow cars

The difference is that when the Ford comes to the dealer, it's because you can't make Sync work, and when the VW comes to the dealer, it's for small issues like "it's burning a quart of oil in 600 miles and needs all new rings" or "the coolant temp sensor failed, wicked coolant up through the entire engine and chassis harness, shorted the ECU, and filled the taillight with coolant".

If you offered me a free off-warranty VW, I would probably decline it

According to the latest from c/d, the awd system adds 132lbs. Add extra chassis bracing and some other shiz, it should still be possible to be a sub 3500 car. As a 350hp grocery getter, I'd be plenty happy with that.

This turns out to be totally untrue. I've been watching closely and the 2015 R and the announcement of the RS haven't seem to have had any downward pressure on prices of the MKVI. There are guys selling low mileage 2012 R's for over $30k, and aside from salvage units, it's super rare to see anything under $27k. Nuts.

Is this an actual thing?

Welp, hopefully I have better luck than that with mine since I've just bought one.

Tee hee
