One more reason to stay here
Our friends over at M.net decided to raise a little more cash, so they have implemented that innane key word clickable link marketing in the text of the threads. So, when someone types "tire" or something, it will be highlighted and direct you to an avertiser that sells whatever widget was linked to that keyword. Makes for annoying reading. Although, you can get around it by subscribing. I already subscribe to the best Miata site, can't see subscribing to another.

2. Go to Tools > Add-ons, press options on Adblock, select remove ads, add
" *.kontera.com/ " as a new filter, press done.
3. Refresh page, no more bullshit in text ads.

Yes it was in the water cooler, I essentially copied and pasted what was above but added "Install Firefox" Gary came on in roughly 3 minutes with:
We prefer if you would become a supporting member of the site - that also will block the Kontera links.
This site is supported strictly by advertising. If you block the ads, and refuse to support the site, basically, you're helping to drive the site out of business, while continuing to use our resources.
then edited my first post with this:
Note from the Management: We've removed the content of this post as we really don't want to encourage people to steal our resources.
after I said:
"Yea but that way is no fun"

Speaking of annoying bullshit on forums...
I hate the "recent threads" column that comes up when you go to mt.net. It's worthless and takes up a lot of the screen. Nobody uses that column. Why must it be there?
Also, every page at the top says "Remove advertisements today by clicking here and subscribing. Only $3.50 a month" (note per month would be better and needs a period to end the sentence) For crying out loud I AM A SUBSCRIBER! Why must I have to see this on every page?

As far as I'm concerned, blocking advertising is theft of service. It costs us money for you to view the site. Contrary to the opinion of some, the Internet is not the same as broadcast TV or Radio. With TV or Radio, there is no incremental cost for 1 additional viewer. But with the Internet, there is. Each additional reader uses CPU cycles, bandwidth, disk space for logs, etc. We've already taken a major hit over the past few years due to adblockers that have caused our delivered banner impressions to drop, despite a rise in readership.
So - I'll say again - adblockers are theft of service. Please either support the site, or put up with the ads.
