I've just discovered that these exist, and am looking to get any input you guys may have.
I've decided whatever unit I end up with, it MUST be surround-sound. Otherwise, there's no point. I've narrowed it down to the Turtle Beach X41 and the Tritton AxPro. Anyone have either of these?

crap now i want a set!
I use 10 year old headphones and I dangle a microphone that came with my stereo receiver (used to set the surround levels) from my glasses as a mic.

my wife uses a Logitech USB headset with boom mike on the PC when she games. She loves them, and they sound great. I know that they are compatable with the PS3 via an extension cord, but never tried it.

PS3
I think I'll probably just pick up the Tritton AxPro or Ax750, haven't looked into the 750 much to see what the difference is. I know it gets its signal from the digital audio on the back of the PS and that it uses multiple little speakers to achieve a real 5.1 (or 7.1, can't remember) effect. The Major in my class uses the 750s and says he can hear ridiculous detail like what direction the airstrikes are coming from, footsteps, enemies reloading nearby, flies farting, etc. I don't really care about the mic, but they come with one so I might as well use it. Now that I know some Arabic I can have fun with some of the preteens that are always playing.
