Default got my first ride in an evo

i was a little dissapointed since i was once a big 4g63 guy, i'm pretty sure from a roll in any gear other than first i'd own him easy in the miata. he had 3" exhaust and intake. nice car, surprisingly stiff for stock suspension.

i am supposed to race a 12.6s Evo one of these days when the weather holds out. I won't do it other than from a roll.

Saw a crazy nice evo today when I went paintballing, evo 8. Guy spent 10k alone on the turbo setup. Way too much IMO. Pretty sure a miata turbo setup would stomp it for so much less. Not quite the same tuner look though.

If you spent 10k smart on a turbo setup in an evo, you will have to sink MUCH more then 10k into a Miata to keep up.

Mitsu is not exactly famous for the drivelines they've been hooking to their 4gs. The DSMs were plagued with tranny and diff issues. Usually the first things to go on the GSXs with mods.

thats a problem with any trans though. you double the power that they were designed to hold and **** breaks.

meh, Evos are a dime a dozen down here. You see them everywhere. They used to be cool, but the novelty has worn off for me.

One of my buddies down here and I traded cars for a day (my Miata w/ stock everything but coilovers for his Evo w/ 350 whp but stock suspension), and at the end of the day he didn't want to give my car back. His car was fun, but the handling was just ok, and there was too much power to have fun on the street with.

The new evo's look dope as ****.

That's the trendy car around here. Either evo's or sti's. They are the best car to lease or make payments on and drive the streets like speed racer right from the dealer. There are some people that really make them into monsters and deserve respect. Most of the ones on the street are stock, or have a few mods, and are driven by crackling voiced highschool kids that crash them.

Vash- (That was all IMHO BTW)

Thats the total opposite here. I see literally 100 STi's a day, maybe 1 EVO. I like the EVO myself, but would never buy one.

Man, that is definitely the opposite. The only Sti I see around here is my GFs, and she isn't even from here.

Don't get me wrong, I like the Evos, but the Subies motor sounds way better. (I tell the GF that the boner is from her, but we all know what it really is from)

Oh you don't have to tell me.. I'm around Subies every weekend and the sound is good, but the EVO doesn't sound half bad either.

I like the H6 from Porsche better, though.

Meh, 140k on my talon with 20k or so at 20lbs of boost. 6-puck clutch and 6,000 rpm launches. Not a hint of a tranny issue. They're good for ~400 horses without issue, more if you don't abuse it.

I think it is about the same. You can get 1000 hp on the evo, but you can also get 600 hp on the miata. And the miata has the potential to way less. I think the miata has a better design for handling too. I would really like to see the miata from flyin miata's website:

http://globalnetspace.com/miata.html

Vs. a 1000 hp evo:

http://videos.streetfire.net/video/1...-evo_59112.htm

Pretty sure the miata would be winning in the corners on a good autox track, but the evo would rape in the straight aways, so would be pretty even in my mind. Obviously the evo would be faster off the line initially too.

You'd be surprised how well an evo with suspension handles.

A 600whp miata and 1000whp on an autox course? Haha.

Nobody takes cars like that on a autox course other then for S&G.

Evo raped me on straights, but once he let me pass he said he couldnt catch back up once we hit the twisties, never saw him again after one lap. this was only 170rwhp and like no low-end torque due to over fueling.

yes, he's not the greatest driver, but as you can see, never am i. dyno chart of day before this track day:

There's a guy with an evo9 who goes out to Hallett with Moton dampers and linear springs, hawk hp+ pads, 3" exhuast, a radiator, and ra-1's. He pretty much rapes then spits on any street car out there.

Hopefully I can keep up when I put the motor in my car.
