Paperwork is being done now, but by Friday I should have my very own island! Well, kinda. It's a 10 year lease with year to year lease after that.

If you look at the pic you can see the roof of the cabin that is on it. Pretty good sized island. Cabin needs work, but it will be a fun project, plus a nice little getaway. Plus it's only half an hour from home.

No, it's a privately owned lake. No game and parks people to deal with, no Boating While Intoxicated, etc.

No, half hour by car, minutes by boat. It's funny, I've wanted my own island since the first time that I went to Canada to fish 16 years ago, but it's 14 hours' drive up there. This is an acceptable substitute for now until I retire.
