Brake fluid in a squirt gun will do wonders to the paint job. Bleach in a squirt gun will give him a custom interior also. Put a little rock under the cover of each of his valve stems and they will slowly let the air out and he'll get 4 flats.

[QUOTE=l_bader;252963]+1 on "What does the boss think?" - Meaning if this is how the twit will deal with a coworker (someone he knows), how is he going to deal with customers (someone he doesn't) ?QUOTE]

Yep. Knowing there's ***** like that on the staff doesn't really make me more anxious to do business there.

Well...I was 'offered' that car as well. I told the seller I would buy it but it became instantly obvious that they were conducting a 'redneck auction'. This, unlike an offical auction, has no rules, nor do you really know IF there are bidders or who they are. or what the actual 'bid' is....so I NEVER get involved in them. I told the seller I wasnt interested in such a trailer park deal and passed. The issue here is the seller...and their cheesedick methods...I wouldnt get to caught up in who the buyer ended up being. I could have outbid you both if I wanted to.

As others have said...there's more cars out there...they come along all the time.

I had assumed you had also called the seller on that one. I did the same thing, and when she wanted a bid, I declined to offer anything additional. I'm not getting involved.

The seller was unethical in how she conducted herself. But there's another matter of getting stabbed in the back by a coworker. That was the hardest hit. I cornered the weaselly little **** yesterday. He explained that he did nothing wrong. He also wouldn't look at me when he said it. He's a ****.

One thing that hasn't been touched on here. As I said before, I agree it was a raw deal. But, apparently, the car just needed a slave or something minor if he was driving it the first day back at work. Even if it was a tranny, less than $300. I kind of understand not wanting to get into the bidding game but a 99 with an offer of "$2850 and would you beat it"? Why didn't you say "OK, I will be there this afternoon with $3000 cash" and steal it back? Still an uber cheap 99. Didn't you think it was worth more than that? Just curious.

firstly, matter of principal. I'm not getting involved in a redneck auction. I had already agreed to buy the car for full asking price, I'm not negotiating up.
secondly, this other person should not have been bidding against me without my knowledge.

it's not the fact that I didn't get the damn thing. it's a car, and I'll get another. it was the way it went down.

I called yesterday about a HDHCDD bar for sale out of a 90. Asking price in the ad was $125. I get directions and run out to snap it up. Get there and the guy says "I've gotten a ton of calls, I guess I wasn't asking enough. It's $250 now." Still a decent price but it pissed me off and I walked. Hate that crap.

Bait and Switch...isn't that what they do at sorority houses, the hot chicks invite you over, get you drunk and then want you to **** their fat sisters?

Ben, you should have said yes to the bid invite and offered a crazy ammount of like $7000 or so, then show up with the original asking price of $2600 and played dumb.
When they say you agreed to pay $7K, you say you were just kidding as you thought they were kidding since you never saw anyone say something that stupid and be serious. Then you ask them if they would like to buy crack from you.

Private parties aren't held to the same standards as businesses. People can pretty much do what they want in a private sale as long as they don't **** off "minorities", the handicapped and don't mind risking a beating. White boy like me gots no rights or recourse.

In addition to what Ben said about not participating in redneck auctions and the priciple of the matter...there is a good reason not to do that....because its a waste of time. Once a dipshit unethical seller starts down that road they typically want to keep the bids going as along as possible and then call you back...IF someone doesnt beat you by.50...or if buyer A doesnt show up with the money.
If I drive to a real auction I can stand there and bid with rules, against real bidders to whatever figure I please until I get the car. A redneck auction is 'awarded' to whomever the dumbfuck seller wants to 'award' to...regardless of real price, "bids" or whats advertised. No ethical person sells that way. In some cases with muscle cars I have seen ********* do this to only change their mind and not sell in the end. My time is worth something. I dont waste it with retarded ******** like that.

For kicks I asked this seller what it would take to finish the deal RIGHT THEN....the answer was 'youre welcome to make an offer'...which is another way of the seller saying they are an unethical stupid ****.

You often run into this with cars that are way under priced. Uninformed and stupid sellers are alot like a loose cannon. They have no ******* clue what theyre doing and could go off in any direction.
