greatest driving simulator ever
www.liveforspeed.net
Live for speed is the most accurate driving simulator i have played yet. You guys should deffinetly download the demo. this game is amazing, its accurate down to the rebound/compression adjustability and tire temps and spring rates and sway bar stiffness and gear ratios, diffrential types, ride heights fuel loads, brake balance, traction control, full spectrum of alignment settings even down to individual wheel specs from f/r and L/r. list goes on. you have a choice of front engine rear engine rwd fwd awd open wheel closed wheel gtr's f1's street cars turbo cars. and a shiiiit load of tracks, online play and you can even design an auto x course and moddify other courses. there is a skidpad and even open parking lots to drag strips.
this game is so real you need a steering wheel and pedals to really enjoy.
its a download and try and then pay for the license to unlock everything. its $40 and can be paid with paypal too i think, i kinda forgot. A+++++++++

Yeah, I used to play LFS a lot. Bought a logitech momo wheel just for it. I love all the RWD cars. Got frustrated when there were only formula car servers online when I wanted to race. Lots of euro players means we get on at down times. And don't be discouraged if there are tons of morons on the demo servers. The full servers are much better.

It's really a great game. The sound is lacking, at least compared to Forza, any of the Simbin racers (GTR, GTL, etc.)...probably on par with Gran Turismo's sound. The physics are great, but you'll never get the full effect without pedals and a wheel. I played for a long time with a flightstick, which was kinda fun, but now I'm using the Logitech Driving Force Pro designed for GT4...it's a whole new ballgame.

Yes, I'd say that GT Legends and GTR are still slightly better, just because their immersion level is a bit higher due to the better engine sounds and such, as well as the more up-to-date car textures. They also have real cars and real tracks...and they're also $40-50 for the game instead of the ~$15-20 LFS charges.

Yeah, that's the other problem, the tire physics are still not quite there in LFS...again, much better in the Simbin games. But, the lack of tire grip is fun as hell with a wheel and pedals
Actually, if you get the tire mod that allows you to run the slicks on any car in LFS, you can get it handling much more realistically.

i feel the physics are spot on other than hitting things. the communication with your tires is the games priority, but i didnt realize other games had it better in this respect. you really need a wheel and pedals, you cant really even race with a mouse. i remember when i started it was all under or all over steer but a wheel helps a scrap load for sure instead of wiping your mouse side to side, you have no control when using it.
