I know its a bit late, and I won't be there but if anyone needs a sofa to sleep on in Tallahassee for a couple nights, I'm sure I could find you a place.

Stupid: Called my Dad a few minutes ago. Talked to him for maybe 1 minute. He's boarding up all the windows on the south side of the house. He's planing on staying. He said it's about impossible to evacuate right now. Traffic backed up on I 10 from the Mobile Tunnel Biloxi. Damn old diehards. Can't tell em' anything. Oh he said he'd see about getting my tools out of the garage. But he doesn't think it's gonna come our way and he's not too worried about it.

When those winds flip the other direction you're going to have problems. I suspect he should board up the entire house. We stupidly didn't board up my leaded glass front door one year because we thought it was protected by walls ect and wind direction, but when it changed it almost blew the door down in. There was a permanent concave in the door and it had to be replaced.

And I mean you can go around the tunnel in Mobile by going through the city.

Yeah you can go around the tunnel. Just saying that traffic in general sucks. Basically it's bumper to bumper on I 10 for 100 miles. I'm sure I 45 is the same. But my Dad's stubborn an he ain't leavin.

We boarded up the entire house for Katrina. Storm just punched the entire window case and all out from the studs. Course our house was so ruined after Katrina.

Hey you know a girl named Laura Wilkerson? She's from Pascagoula and goes to FSU.

The storm has weakened somewhat over what was expected about 12 hours ago, but it's still a major storm and still has the potential to reach Category 4 by landfall.

We left my brother's house in Abita Springs at 9:00 pm last night and arrived in Panama City at 6:00 this morning. 9 hours for a trip that normally takes less than 5. :( We wanted to avoid the contraflow fustercluck though.

We stayed with some family last night, but only got about an hour of sleep before getting up for breakfast this morning. We got a hotel room. that was whole disaster in and of itself. they canceled our reservation and told us we didn't have a room. Don't tell a man that hasn't slept in almost three days that he doesn't have a place to sleep! lol. Needless to say, we got some rooms after a marathon yelling session.

I just took my first good hot shower in a couple of days, and I'm going take a nap. lol.

To everyone still in the area, GET OUT!!!!! To everyone from the area, stay safe and my prayers are with everyone.

San Diego county, CA. It's not a proper spring as we don't often get rain, so it's really more like a perpetual early fall all the time. The earthquakes, while frequent, are very tame. Basically the geological equivalent of a soothing massage. A few scattered fires every now and then, but not usually a concern near the coast.

On the other hand, I'm currently on the Gulf Coast of FL, watching not just the two that are already here, but the two more "weather systems" behind them. It's like machine-gun fire...

Well, went in to work today, helped get the entire fleet ready to takeoff, and troubleshot some jets to make them flyable again..

Tomorrow we go in wait for them to decide if they are going to fly the whole fleet out or not, if they do, we launch them all, if not we go home and wait for the rain.

Yeah understandable. I can't imagine what a cat 4-5 is like.

Laura? No idea, there are like 40k students. It would have to be a miracle for me to know her.

Well, Jim Cantore is setup about 3 miles from my house.

To everyone on the coast, you know what THAT means.

+1, she's one of probably tens of thousands who get pregnant at 17. I really dont think its a big deal, assuming she has the means to take care of this baby.
