I bought Harbor Freight Bolt Type Puller Set to remove the ATI Crank Pulley and it worked as designed. For $12.00 I highly recommend it.


Note: You will have to purchase an extra set of bolts and washers to remove the crank pulley as the size of the bolts that come in this package do no match the ATI bolt threads.

I've had that set for nearly 30 years. Only used it a handful of times, but it does the job, and it's only about a buck more than I paid back then.

I've been rocking their 1/4" cordless impact for about two years now. Good for the occasional/light use. Makes quick work out of valve cover bolts, etc.
Even used it to spin off lug nuts once breaking them loose by hand.

The battery finally took a dump on me, but that was due to water leaking into my storage unit and getting the pack wet... I must have charged the thing a dozen times or so since I had it and it still worked nicely. And, a replacement battery is $17 or so.

Good purchase at $60. Not so much at full price. Then again, who buys anything at "full price" from HF?

1/2" impact is great. Best value this side of milwaukee. I did end up having to rebuild the battery pack and it got even better.

The 18 volt half inch impact is a huge turd. It couldn't loosen things that I could get with my 3/8 ratchet.
I may have gotten a dud. I tried multiple known good batteries.
Bought today, returned today.

Probably got a dud. Mine will do the front hub nuts and it'll do the axle nut if its not rusty.

If you can live with using an extension cord, the HF 1/2" corded impact is great.

Not so great to use at the track, but if you don't have air tools at home it sure is nice to have.

So did they make the corded one good while making the 18v crap? The corded ones have always struggled to produce enough torque to deal with m6 fasteners.

Sounds like it. My corded one will crack off 150ft/lb spindle nuts no problem.

I have a corded 1/2" HF impact gun that I bought in 09/10 and it is still working amazingly. It is heavy and bulky, but damn if it keeps on chugging. I have seen very few bolts that it was not able to remove. Generally it is I cannot get a straight shot onto it, or the stupid 14mm that holds the shock top hat to the shock shaft.

I honestly want a good corded drill that uses a chuck. HF does not sell one and it makes me very sad.

The compact right angle drill is corded and has a chuck.
I am very happy with mine.

Mind linking me to it? I have one of their chuckless angle drills and it is ok, already cracked the housing a bit so it does not hold the best. But it fits in to drill oil pans which I love.

Yes, that's the one.
I've been using it to drill through some 1/4" steel plates this week and some old native hardwood that is probably even harder.
I really like it so far.

Not HF, but in the interest of cheapazztools: I picked up an eBay endoscope/borescope for $9 delivered on the 7m version. Price varies with length. Comes with a 90° mirror attachment. This item is for real. Small enough to fit in spark plug holes too. The leds are not bright, but are sufficient for to see enough detail in the 640x480 (natively reversed/flopped) image. At the price point it's all win in my book- providing the capability to view areas you can't or are difficult to see. Plug-n-play on Mac OS.
