And people on the m.net forum always argue with me on how important the CARB sticker for the GReddy is.

Racing Beat makes a good quality, good sounding exhaust that won't offend anyone.

Sorry man there is never a reason to keep the stock miata exhaust with a turbo setup.
Hey a Ca guy reporting in on this.... Yes this is very gay. Sometimes I wonder how these laws come about. Do the people really want them? I sure as hell do not want my car inspected because of these bullshit reasons, "Under Drag-Net, San Diego officers come to train other departments how to look out for what they believe to be tell-tale signs of illegal modification such as window tinting, large spoilers, extra gauges or racing stickers. Police say this gives them probable cause to stop and inspect a vehicle and its engine compartment."
Tell-tale signs of illegal modfication? A sticker? Are these cops ******* stupid? I guess since I have a boost guage for my compleatly LEGAL turbo kit that warrents the cops a reason to pull me over. Frankly I am sick of CA and its current and former figureheads in its government. This is susposed to be a "liberal" state hahah what a joke.
Go ahead and let the cops pop my hood. Let them look inside with complete confusion. With the poor training they recivce they have it in thier head that I am a crimina;l becuase I enjoy tinkering with my car. See this law is fine becuase owners of z06 vetts and vipers have no problem at all. 400+whp and perfectly legal becuase they cost lots of money and only the rich can afford them. Nevermind my 135whp miata, no NOOO thats against the law now!!! I have a blow off valve OMG I AM A CRIMINAL MY CAR MUST BE SEARCHED AND SIEZED TO BE SOLD! I must pay more money to make me even more ******* broke. While our *****, sellout, cocksucking govenment laughs at the plight of the common man, as they drive down the road in their benz.
I can go ON and ON and ON. 2 years for smog? not unless you "randomly" get selected for test only. Guess what everyone I know (that ownes imports that are more than 8 years old) "randomly" got selected for test only smog. I really enjoyed resmogging my car after less than a year of ownership.
This was once one of the best states to own a car, now its the worst. Too many laws, too many fees and crap gas. If you are thinking about it dont come to Ca even for a job, becuase in the long run you will be paying more for, well... EVERYTHING!

Well stickers and big wings are for ricer ****, window tint is for ghetto thugs, and gauge pillars are for people who think thier cars are fast but really arent such as: homboy in his 4cyl s10, bro in his grand am, oh yeah everyone who drives a neon! So if you are true to your miata than you shouldnt have a problem, with the exception of loud exhaust.

.... And talk about exhaust noise - What about moded Harleys! They are way louder than any rice can zorst.

Anyway I think as redrockkkit said we should not have a problem, most of our miata's even modded with the turbo should be fine. My car is not noisy, passes smog and does not have a wing.
We all know who they are really targeting... do you think that they have time to do this single you out BS? Come on, they can just as easily pull you for going 5mph over the speed limit. If you are really worried about this article then you know you are doing something wrong already.

Sounds like CA might have some issues...

My step-bro lives in San Diego I think, he's been pulled over and ticketed twice.
Once for running a stop sign(no one around).
Once for going left on red (again, no one around)

He was on his BICYCLE, he can't afford a car out there and public transport is slow and $$$(from what I hear never been)...

I hate the law but I think us miata owners are ok . I never have much issue with a the cops. A miata just blends into traffic

Here in Greenfield, ca is the same ****. Me and my friends were filming a film on our cars in the road. We had no racing or anything. A sheriff passes by and pull us four over. two cop cars come and check everything out. they make my friend with the turbo eclipse take his catback out, his Adjustable BOV from greddy, and his Adjustable Boost controller. They said you cannot have anything adjustable. two of the cops were really stupid so they could not tell what i had. The third cop who cheched the eclipse told him that if he ever saw him again he was going to stop him. and what do you know he did. He opened the hood and didnt see anything. he just let him go. but weeks later we put everything back together. about the movie well it was ok. we couldnt film much because of this ****. I guess if theyd found the movie and played it we would have been in deeper ****. other than that i have been pulled over for loud exhaust when my miata was stock. i jut put in a 20 dollar mffler wich i will never do again.
- to protect your self test the loudness of your exhaust the law says it supposed to be 95 db or less of sound to be legal. now bikes sound like 110db almost the threshold of pain wich is 120db.

....I got pulled over the other day and the cop popped me for my greddy kit....it was so lame. so he asks me if I have any modifications on the car. and I'm like yah . so he pops my hood. well he doesn't know what to think then. I tell/show him its a completely legal turbo kit and such. but his "traing" said otherwise. hahaah a 4 hour class and a video and the guys a emissions expert!! . the "expert" even asked me if I made my own roll bar and then asked if it was legal!.......so tell me what anyone of you would think at this moment .....(its a harddog hardcore so we all know)..I told him that I wish i could weld that nicely ....so any ways now I have to go fork out cash outta my pocket to have a smog ref tell me what I already know. that its a legal kit. I tell you this is lame. I mean with the same logic that the states using they could sieze our firearms because we all are terriosts/radicals/criminals, because why else would ya have them otherwise right?.....ya ya I know its a far stretch of a comparison. but it wouldn't suprise me a whole lot if to them it was the same thing..........now I cant even drive my miata "legally" until I get it inspected.....talk about lame.....now I gotta deal with California gas prices and my 8's glutton gas mililge.....oh ya don't even get me started on the crappy customer service I have gotten from greddy. it has taking months of nagging to get my carb paperwork from them.....and a whole lotta good it does when theres emissions and safety experts pulling people over.hahahah legal roll bar..wat a putz.
