Default How to add com ports

I searched around and couldn't find how to add com ports to my Windows 98 Compaq. I just got a DB9 serial cable to connect to MS. I went under device manager to select it, but I am only showing 2 ports. One is "com port 1" the other is "printer port". I have tried connecting the MS with ignition on and off, but nothing shows up.

How do I make this work? I need to get to com port 3, but they aren't showing up. The port has " |O|O| " over it if that matters.

COM 1 is your serial port. Just make megatune point to COM 1.

Alright, I set it to COM 1. Now when I start megatune it doesn't give me the message of "not connected" but when I go under communications and try testing it, it says "no response!".

Fixed. The rate was set at 9600, I just changed that to something else then back again and it fixed it. Serial cables can burn in hell. Thanks for the help sam.
