Get specialty agreed upon value insurance. I'm with AllState with the non motorcycle vehicles now, but they really bent over backwards to match the rate from Sneed Insurance. Check them out. They quoted me less than $200/yr for full coverage, low deductible, and high limits. And the agreed upon value IIRC was $7500. Also see if Haggerty will insure a Miata. They've been super cheap with my old cars. Both Sneed and Haggerty made me prove that I had an insured daily driver and submit pics to validate condition.

I've got 2 Miatas and drive both equally so I have both on full coverage; I'll probably drop the 97 down in coverage after the winter since the value is dropping on it and isn't worth full coverage any longer.

awesome. I thought haggerty would only provide coverage on cars at $15k or more though. Right now state farm is ******* me at $100 on each car, each month with a clean record in all respects.

I want full coverage on both, and I'll be worried about theft when there's and intercooler hanging out the front.

Yeah, I wasn't bullshitting. They may even call you tomorrow to follow up. Their application will ask for a list of all mods, power output, and an agreed upon value. You'll have to submit pics of all sides, interior, engine, and top. It's a little extra work, but you save mad bank.

Beers are on you when you're in town.

Good thread. I should be getting my car today or tomorrow and I was disappointed in the added cost for me and I love my insurance company. I might have to check Sneed out.

I have full coverage on four vehicles.

1991 Miata
2002 Impreza WRX
2004 Mazda6
2006 Nissan Titan

The 6 and the Titan have gap insurance.

Roughly $1900 per year.

Who's got the best deal on agreed-value insurance? I'm about to put a $2000 suspension on a car I paid $4000 for, so I figured it might be time to think about upgrading my policy to what it would actually cost to replace the car, instead of the tiddly-winks that AAA would give me.

Does Sneed care about roll bars? I seem to remember some companies won't insure you if you have one, can't remember if they are one of them or not.

I've been meaning to address this issue. Nationwide has the miata listed as a "pleasure" car and it is still expensive.

Not sure about the roll bar. I think I drive the miata more than 5000 miles per year...I wonder if Sneed is actually going to check that?

I ddidn't have money to get full coverage on the 99 miata and until now i had no fault only - sucks in michigan though because you don;t get anything if you get hit, maybe $500 (mini tort??). payed for that 1400 a year. I'm trying to find a cheaper place to get full coverage for the same price.

forgot to mention. I'm 18 and no tickets on my record. just a no fault collision.

I got three (3) tickets this last year. We have USAA Insurance, and pay $233 a month for a Toyota 4x4 Truck, Miata Turbo, Mercedes-Benz SLK, Yamaha R6 (Bike), and a Kawasaki Ninja (bike).

They shouldn't care about the roll bar. They just don't insure "track cars". My car has a roll bar, and it wasn't a problem. Please, no one point out the difference between a roll bar and a style bar. We all know. <edit> My car has a STYLE bar, not a roll bar. </edit>

GTS, I see you're in Athens. We're putting together a dyno day in Suwanee, about 45 minutes or so away from you. Should be sometime at the end of the month.

I have my miata listed as my "primary" car and my IS300 as my secondary.. saves me a TON.
