Just curious how people use their cars and whether you've got something else you rely on when something breaks. I was using my turbo miata as my "fun car" but it recently got promoted to "primary car with another vehicle". I know people with aftermarket turbo cars as their only vehicle, but mine sees enough down time that it's not really practical as an only car.
Umm, It is my only car... I am searching for another DD though so I can afford some downtime for more DIY and more win. This also forces me to keep a stockpile of parts incase it breaks, I can have it back on the road again. If it does do something screwy, I am reduced to my wife's 08 Civic.... auto, non SI fail mobile.
My C5 does the same thing but it's got an inch of wax on it at all times. Maybe that's why I'm so much faster than Jared...
I treat it like my primary car even though I have a second vehicle that I ought to be piling miles onto instead. Although driving anywhere in the Miata is fun compared to my other car, a '92 Legacy wagon. So I guess I'm right between fun and primary. May become my only car soon as I'm getting tired of insuring/gassing up 2 cars.
Right now it is my DD (even on snow filled days here in Utah), but is gradually making the transition to a dedicated track/weekend car. Graduation in a few months will expedite that transition!
I never drive it. I just rub it with a diaper.

It's garaged most of the time. I drive it on nice days, to shows, and some road trips. I've got a second one that's a no-compromise flyweight (sub 1400 lbs) autocross car and another one that's destined to be a track car.

I only drive my "other car" when what I need wont fit in the miata.
Both cars have an extra set of snow wheels/tires for the winter. But the montero sport can haul a trailer - and you can put **** in the back of it - and it has 5 seatbelts...all with their own "seat"

Mine shares DD duties with a G8 GT. On nice days when I don't need extra seats, the Miata gets driven. My commute is long and rural. Perfect for a Miata.
Of course, right now the Miata is down for the build and the G8 GT is in the shop because I hit an animal and did a bit of damage. So . . . I'm driving my wife's 380SL. Yuck.
