The sheer stupidity baffles me on a regular basis. Keep the IATs under control, make sure it's not running lean, and you can do whatever you want on 91 octane.

MP asked me if I thought he could safely make 220-250 with a MP62 hotside on CA91 pump gas. I still don't think so. The possibility of failure is exponentionally related to the WHP.
Bill, (formerdatson510man) has done a load of things to his car to get there. Her runs 93 octane on 9:1 pistons. I believe he is barely at 220WHP. It is quite a leap to go from 220 to 250. Even more of a leap to do it on CA91. Even with the base M45 kit Moss recommends 92 octane minimum. And Bill has the best engine management that money can buy.
Of course this is just my humble opinion.

I believe his level of expertise is related to non intercooled, high compression 99-00 and 01-05 motors. Taken in that context, IE "low" octane, high intake temp, and high compression, coupled with no timing management... I entirely agree with what he said.
Also his customers seem to follow his lead like lemmings. So if he posts that >220 whp is a bad idea, they will take it to heart... and hopefully stop blowing their **** up. Because for a while, it seemed that there was an FFS equipped engine failure every week.

BTW, I had an interesting PM dialoge with Tom. He seems like an allright guy, when he's not out there whoring his product.
I like Tom to but sometimes i find myself doing a double take on his posts. Either he panders to the Newbs or he realy hasn't researched thingsas far as we have. I dunno witch is worse.
Install kit
turn key
melt pistons
I bought a fuel rail from him, only because he was the only one selling them at the time. they way he stole the design from BRP/SOT was just wrong. If only I had a PC-Pro or two instead of a MS I'd be making so much power.

why ban the guy if you're cashing his checks?
$1800/yr will get you some lee way with me

The last part never happened and he's still out a shitload of money.
After all the bullshit about BRP ******* people, there are still morons that believe BRP is the ****.
If you're referring to the Coldside, you should get your story straight. Tom designed the Coldside kit, BRP was supposed to (sell the kits) accept payment and send Tom his cut.

I bought one of his fuel rails and it's a nice piece at a fair price with good service and friendly emails. Couldn't find it listed on his sight and had to email him about it's availability. I did paint over the white lettering with black paint.
