Well then, in light of this:

this seems like the only thing to do:

So if he isn't your real dad, and from what I've read between the lines he isn't the greatest guy, why get involved?

+1. How bout some details on the camaro? Worth keeping?
Get title, keep car forever, get custom license plate reading 'KARMA'. Win.

I don't really want to get into this, but let's just say I thought he was my Dad for 27-years, he was a **** when I was growing up, I don't really **** with it but all those feelings of "my dad is a waste of life" are admonished from my psyche.

If there is no proof that your mother's husband was given the ring with expectation that it would be given back (a service receipt / etc.) then there is no case. Judge Judy would fry that bitch for even claiming that.

Take ownership of the Camaro, consider it partial amends for the way he treated you when you were growing up, sell it to someone for a huge sum of cash, then claim that the sale was made with both parties "in good faith", deny knowledge of ever hearing about a ring/lawsuit, and WIN.

A sale made "in-good-faith" is irreversible by law. - Besides, your 'dad' gave you the car so you could sell it so you could afford the screened in patio that you've always wanted to build.

One thing really puzzles me, is your "father" a jeweller or goldsmith???
If not, why the **** did the neighbour give him the ring ????????????????

From what I hear about insurance claims, when a 9ct lightweight wedding band goes missing, it's clearly in the eyes of the owners a 22ct heavyweight band with lots of diamonds set into it.

Stinks of a con, take the car and burn rubber
