I agree. Increased maintenance costs too. But using less fuel isn't just a money thing.

MR2 power steering just **** itself, and Hailey actually might have pulled something in her chest in the parking lot when it died on her.

The Jetta is a million times less likely to send you backwards into a tree.

$300 gets you another 24 HP and 37 torques.

PD TDI | Malone Tuning Ltd

[No idea if this company is any good, just an example.]

I wonder if the build / materials quality of the Jettae has improved in recent years.

My sister had one, and the body pretty much fell apart. Very robust drivetrain, but there were always panels falling off, motors and switches failing, fasteners spontaneously removing themselves, etc. Twice, a fender liner dropped out while she was on the highway. The first time she didn't notice, and it eventually started smoldering while she was cruising down I-75.

It was pretty much the opposite of a well-constructed chassis.

Malone is probably the best tuning company for these cars.

And you can do the stage 2 with no other changes. $350, +40 hp and +68 lb ft.... but stage 1.5 is better (there we go again with stages).

It even rolls coal like that.

As of 2004, not really.

passenger rear window doesn't work (currently wedged up in place.. .has been that way for 3 years) and driver rear door doesn't open (something fell apart inside causing the exterior handle to quit working... some hack mechanic tried to fix it, and now the INTERIOR handle doesn't work. IT WASN'T ME.)

also, sometimes the turn signal clicker keeps clicking, even when the turn signal isn't being used. It's kinda funny.

Yup, my sister's car had one window that was wedged up (can't remember which) and also a door that wouldn't open from the outside. I don't remember her having the clicker problem, but my recollection is that the CEL basically functioned as a power-on indicator, even though nobody could ever actually find anything wrong with anything.

My impression was that VW basically needed to offer a trade-in program, where you keep your old engine & transmission and they just drop a new body around it. The drivetrain on that car would probably have lasted through 3 or 4 bodies, assuming they were all of the same quality as the original.

Nice thing is i don't really give 2 ***** about the body. I want a car that gets good gas mileage, is somewhat comfortable, and cheap.

Ideally i want a 2001 civic, but i like the diesel idea better.

I'm getting an OBS 7.3 in a year or 2. F100 body is going in the OBS frame.

I deleted this from my HTPC and I am searching for the 3gb upgrade file. Supposedly MS downloaded the win10 OS without asking. Does removing the above update remove the 3gb file? (Keep this at a 5th grade level. Not a puter wizard)

I'm not sure it's exactly what you're looking for, but try this:

disk cleanup (right click -> run as administrator)

check "windows update cleanup"

I searched for "how to prevent win10 from automatically upgrading." Several users have found the upgrade already downloaded without their knowledge. It's just sitting there waiting to wipe out your existing OS. That is what i want to delete. I dont know where to look or what it would be called. Is it disguised as an update.....meaning KBxxxxx?
