I suspect (but cannot prove) that a reading taken at the thermostat housing will be somewhat lower than a reading taken at the rear of the head (where the OEM temp sensors are located) for the simple reason that the water at the front outlet has spent less time in the engine and has picked up less heat.

(And don't anybody think of dredging up the old BS about how the myth of increased coolant flow velocity leading to decreased heat transfer has been thoroughly debunked. This is a ratiometric comparison.)

This. It just makes sense logically anyways, since its basically the "exhaust" coolant with the heat it is transfer. I just answered for the thermostat.

Just bought a 32 year old camper from an ad I found on CL. Wife insists that she is getting fed up with sleeping on the ground in a tent.

While I realize that home ownership is not accessible to everyone, perhaps you should look into renting an apartment? There are many state and federal programs designed to assist those who are unable to afford rent payments on their own.

Ugh....so I plugged my lappytoppy into the car the other day to make sure my WB02 is working and whatnot when i noticed my air temp. was reading -20. I know this...the sensor is disconnected (wonky pin in the connector) so I popped the hood and plugged it in and verified a good reading. Fast forwart to last night and a fe wWOT pulls and my feeling that the car isn't pulling as hard as it should. Do some datalogging. Come to see that above 5,500rpms that my AFRs are going to 14-14.9 with 13psi of boost. FML. So I disconnected the air temp sensor and the car felt better but data logs showed AFRs going to to ~14.5 over 6k rpms @ 13psi. FML. I don't really know how to tune this out myself as I am afraid to blow **** up or get a ticket on the street.....so I guess I'll be scheduling a trip to the dyno for a littlw power tuning. Doesn't bother me since I've been wanting to up the boost to 15psi anyway. In the meantime, I'll try lowering boost to see if it helps anything....back down to 11psi.

Do you trust that your WBO2 sensor is properly calibrated, and that they display you are seeing is indicative of the true AFR?

I wish I could say I can think of a reason not to trust it, but idle AFRs and going into boost down low indicate target AFRs and up to 5,500rpm it's in the low 11's like it is supposed to be. The odd thing is I loaded in the map that was last used for dyno tuning that logged low 11 AFRs to redline and it's still producing a lean condition up top. I guess I could do a power pull and go through the cells and increase fuel (tuning...duh) but I don't know when changing values how much it changes fuel %. Ugh. I wonder if I can take the cells from that entire range and say add xx% across all of them at the same time rather than one by one.

Last time this happened to me it was because of fuel filter.

You know gaeforeva...I didn't even think about that. Given the car is a 2002 and the miles on it, a fuel filter change should be due...and that could explain when it's going lean up top and is fine down low/mid range. I guess I'll get to that this weekend. Appreciate the offer on the filter, but I'll get one here since I'm the "gott have it now" person.

After gaining access to my router I intercepted cookies created while logging into my facebook.

I then used those cookies to create fake ones on the attacking computer.

I then loaded up facebook.com and piggy backed off the intercepted cookies. Which means I now have access to my FB with out ever seeing a username or password.

Oh by the way this works for tons of log ins that utilize cookies.

I now work as a gas hauler in the chattanooga area. I am running additives and also 92% pure ethanol to the pipe line/ tank terminals from rail tankers. I can get this ethanol at cost. If this could help anyone with their power goals, and you arent too far away, I think I can help you get some on the cheap. I can legally haul 4 58 gallon drums across state line for hobby use. We also have 102 octane and 110 octane already drummed... just a little fyi.

This sucks. I'm a bit panicked by this issue with my foot. I was kicking around a soccer ball earlier today, did it for quite a while, nothing out of the ordinary. Now I can not move my foot upwards, opposite of pointing your toes. I have full control over every other motion, expect the one. It's quite freaking me out. I'm semi claustrophobic, and to me this feels like someone is restraining my foot. It's also accompanied by a numb, pressure sensation, sort of like I have been sitting on my foot for a long time. I'm sure it's just temporary nerve issues, but it's freaking me out none the less. Maybe I can sleep tonight without being too much frustrated by this. Staring at a body part and trying to will it with every ounce of your concentration and willpower, and having it not respond is quite a bad experience. I guess I now have a slight understanding of what people who have permanent paralysis go through every day.

Jesse- You'll be fine. You used some muscles/tendons that you normally don't. I bet you can't walk right either...kinda flopping your foot down hard rather than a nice heel first walk. I did it awhile ago and it was like that for a day and all was good. Kinda strange feeling though.




Now onto my car pissing me off. I swear I'm not far from a partout thread. Drove across the city and as soon as I get to my driveway, stop for my garage door to open and hit the clutch it gets kinda hard and then pops down with no pressure. Had to put the car in gear and use the starter to get into the garage. Once inside, I suspected a pooped slave but upon having my girlfriend pump the clutch, I could not see any fluid coming from the slave yet a growing puddle of ATE SuperBlue under the slave area. I'll crawl under there tomorrow and hope it's not the rubber line or a hardline. So it looks like I'll be doing clutch work AND a fuel filter tomorrow. Ugh.


On a funny note- On my way home I came up on a couple of "hood rich" folks in Challengers trying to race each other on the interstate. I totally pulled up on them right as they both hit it...I hit it too and walked both of them. One was stock (unknown engine size...I don't know much about them) and the other was clearly a V8 (non SRT) with wheels and exhaust. I pulled on them and hit the brakes and when they pulled up I was giving a yawning motion and the passenger was throwing his arms out in a "what now?! c'mon" gesture...I dropped a gear, waited for them to punch it and then walked them again. All of this was accomplished without even running the RPMs out. Pussies.

I know what youre experiencing. I get the same thing in my elbow after a particulalrly long day at the computer. Hand/wrist is kinda numb, and just won't respond like it's supposed to. It goes away after a decent nights sleep.

Well, turns out the rubber clutch line got a pinhole. It probably wouldn't be a problem to replace except for the ******* coolant reroute in the way....which I might just yank out and sell because it's not doing me any good on the stock 01+ HG. That's a decision I'll be making soon.

So while I waited to hear back about locating a replacement rubber line I started "preparing" to do the fuel filter. I figured I'd get the ladder brace off and remove the plastic shield to get to the filter and take a look at the PITA fuel line connectors. Well, I ended up just plowing thru the project and it ended up bein pretty easy. Popped the connectors off, yanked the filter and tossed the new one in. A few more steps were involved, but it was one of the few problem free parts replacement projects I've ever done.
I did locate a stock clutch line that I'll be picking up shorty...I did find someone selling a SS line, but they didn't get back to me...but I'm not worried about having a SS line.
