That top is WITHOUT rain rail. Do yourself a favor, and spend the extra to get a new one. If your top is shot, chances are the RR is as well. If not, most likely you will crack or tear it taking it off the old top. Nothing like installing a top to find it still leaks.

BUY A NEW RAIN RAIL.

I have done a few top installs. They are not exactly hard, just long and tedious. I prefer NA tops with the zip down window just because it is nice to be able to leave the top up, unzip the back window, and put down the side windows. You get most of the win of having the top down, but also do not have the sun shining directly on you. I do this on long drives on the interstate

+1 on rain rail.

I just had to put a rain rail on my car because the last time somebody replaced the top they didn't do it. Buying it pre-installed instead of separately is a win.

And regarding the quality of the vinyl, My robbins glass/zipper/vinyl top wore out at the fabric part around the window zipper. The vinyl itself still looks pretty damn good. I'm using Marine Goop and two strips of black fabric to hold the zipper to the top, hopefully that works. F*ck spending money right now.

On the topic of glass windows:

I had a Robbins no-zip glass-window vinyl top installed on my '92. Paid a local shop to do it, and they did a nice job. The glass window is quite nice. Visibility is very slightly poorer than with the plastic window, as it's smaller, but it's nice not to have to worry about fading, cracking, etc. And the vinyl itself is still in perfect shape after 5 years, with no maintenance beyond an occasional washing.

But after just 2 or 3 years, the rear window started to separate from the top. Basically, the glass is just glued to the vinyl, and the adhesive started to fail such that the glass and vinyl began to part.

I doubt whether a canvas top would fare any better in this regard. My next top (on the '90) is going to be a cheap no-zip plastic window.

Changing the tops really isn't that hard. Unless you're absolutely dead-set on being able to lower the window, the $200 vinyl plastic window jobs are the best deal. They'll last 4 or 5 years, and then you can replace it again.

Screw dropping $600 on a canvas top with a zip out glass window and have it self-destruct within 2 years.

about 50 feet ahead of us is a ******* red right so I pull behind her and get out of my car. I knock on her window to politley let her know shes a cunted ----. she wouldnt make eye contact, like before, and had a really snobby pissed off look to her face. i put my hand onto her window as I was leaning in and then started mouthing off and she turns, points at my finger and snaps "dont touch my car!"

of course, I put both my hands on her window and say "what now bitch, u mad?"

close.

Snares enemy units in the target area, immobilizing them and causing 36 damage over 4 seconds. Reveals cloaked and burrowed units. Prevents units from burrowing, unburrowing, and blinking.

Although Fungal Growth immobilizes enemy units, it does not stop them from attacking or using abilities.

+1 on long and tedious, but I had no issues swapping the rain rail.

I mean, if it's OEM, absolutely, get a new rain rail. But if he has a robbins top like he said, the rain rail may be fine (Or at least mine was, in a Robbins top that was very old and used.) At least, it's that way in my experience: The Robbins rain rails are longer lasting than the top itself.

****! I can never get anything done car related at home. Tried to fix my aunts car, a single broken lug on each front side. I thought I would be able to get my air hammer on the broken studs and there would be enough room at the back to not have to remove the hub... WRONG! I would have to drop the calipers, rotors, axles, hubs, just for a ******* lug stud. She still has 4 of 5, I told her to deal with it, I was no longer doing it as a free favor, and she couldn't afford me. I don't have a decent place to work, nor do I have any decent tools here. Everything is ancient junk. I had to fix a ******* blown air line just to use the shitty air tools that didn't work anyway. **** this place, I can't wait to move.

Sounds like we can't win. For me, the most simple of jobs somehow ALWAYS turns into a bullshit hassle. If it should take me a day or two, it takes a week or two. I blame my work environment and lack of tools and tool organization. I have **** scattered between a half dozen "tool storage" areas. Finding the tools I need to do the job is an impossible task. If I do find them, they are broken. If I attempt to work on something, it blows up in my face, literally, or figuratively. Drop something small in the grass and never find it, break the most impossible to break part, ect.

How many different ways can I ask the same thing?

Me
I want to know if you can sell me product A+B with these features.

Him
Yes, product A+ is just what you need, and you will also need product C at another $140 to do something similar, but not as effeciently as product A can do it. You don't need product B

Me
I don't have anyway to possibly utilize product C. Can you sell me something that can do what I am asking?

Him
Yes, product A+ can do something similar to what you are asking, and product C can almost do what you are asking about. You don't need product B.

Week off to cool down and think of another way to phrase the question.

Me
Can you sell me product A and B with the features in the linked pdf from your website (after reading all applicable pdfs on the site.)

Him
Yes, product A+ can do something similar to what you are asking, and product C can almost do what you are asking about. You don't need product B, but we can add it if you want.

Me
Can product A+ turn on two things separately the way that product A can? In other words, can it do this...
(Paste the part of the pdf file that applies to what I want.)

Can you sell me something that does this?

Now I am waiting for a reply.

Every time I hear the phrase "special counsel" I can't help but envision an attorney with Down's Syndrome.

Does that make me a bad person?

Have you ever put any thought into a attending sensitivity training course? I think you'd learn a lot, I know that I have.
