How (and why) to Ramble on your goat sideways

After the completion of the very successful first series of the revamped Doctor Who, the British media regularly released conflicting reports about how long Piper would be staying with the programme. In March 2006, she claimed that she would continue on Doctor Who into its third season in 2007.[11] On 10 May 2006, however, she was reported to be considering quitting the series, although she did express an interest in playing a female version of the Doctor in the future (possibly related to a proposed Doctor Who spin-off series about Rose which was later dropped).[12] On 15 June 2006, the BBC announced that she was to depart in the final episode of the second series, "Doomsday".[13] Piper's decision to leave had been taken a year previously, but remained a secret until news of her departure became public.[14]

Well, my long saga dealing with a 30mph over speeding ticket issued by Georgia State Patrol has finally closed. While a fun learning experience, I am not happy with the outcome, but I took a plea deal to get it over with. I had fun representing myself and doing the footwork and research to try to get the upperhand, but in the end, the video from the patrol car was too inaccurate to argue against. Yes, that's what I said. Oddly, the dash-cam video has NO telmetry, which probably would have gotten me a dismissal/not guilty at trial. But instead, the video just has the officer doing verbal notes of his speed, which is hard to argue against because he is a "sworn officer" and his regular patrol is the mountain road. So he would have been able to play it cool that he really knows very well how to "pace" cars on a twisty mountain road accurately...something I thing he could easily done while telling lies. I know, as well as the 3 other drivers, that we weren't doing 65mph in a 35 zone, maybe 45-50 at most. But the video has him roll up behind us, note "70 mph" out loud, follow for a bit more and flip on the lights. In the end, we settled for 14mph over the limit which is a no-point offence and won't hurt my driving record. That, and a $285 fine....well, $100 fine and $185 in court costs. The ADA commended my friend and I for a valient effort and being professional about the whole ordeal.
At least you got no points, thats good. Does this raise your insurance? Thats what pisses me off, and cops that say they can pace a car going around corners. My dad was a ossifer of da laww for 25 years, and can accurately pace a car going in a straight line, but told me its much more difficult to do accurately when a vehicle is going around corners, but he also insists that no radar detector works so...

one time my wife got pulled overafter being clocked over the speed limit.
the cop made a huge deal about having to drive at excess of 100mph to catch up to her, and noted it in court as well--a real sticking point to try to escaslate the severity of the speeding.
Well of course you have to drive faster the car in pursuit to catch up to it from a dead stop...

Oh, I watched the in-car footage and you guys wouldn't believe how reckless the officer was in the first few minutes of trying to come up behind us- This included several passes on double-yellow around bline corners and nearly clipping a car that was pulling out into the road, numerous line crossings and excessive speed. In the first 2 minutes of his driving, he was far more reckless than we ever were. It was amazing. I'll get the video soon and post it up.
