Actually, I deliberately chose the no-zip plastic window.
On plastic vs. glass, my last top (on the red car) was a Robbins glass top, and while the top material was quite nice, the area where the glass meets the top is quite weak. Essentially, the top material is just glued directly to the glass, rather than having a proper NB-style mounting solution, with the result that the seam between the top and the glass started to fail after about 3 years, and the glass finally came completely un-stuck from the top at both lower corners.
So I figure that if I'm only going to get 3 years out of it anyway, I might as well go with the less expensive plastic window that offers better rearward visibility.
On zippered vs. non-zippered, I'm a lazy SOB who wants to just pop the latches and throw the top back, and then later just grab the top and pull it up and re-latch it, both of which I can do quite easily and quickly while seated without even unfastening the seatbelt.

I'm also avoiding glass in the future. My Robbins glass has done the same, though I think mine is quite a bit older. The window is being held in place by magical forces, because I know it's not the glue. My next top, if I get another vert top, will be a zippered plastic.

It actually felt really good most most of the trip. Just pour some water over your head every 20-30 minutes and you'll feel like a million bucks right up until the point where you Sheephead Mountain and it starts to get cold, and you suddenly realize that you are, in fact, sunburned as hell and more just just a little bit delirious. And then you spend the rest of the summer with a pale stripe imprinted diagonally across your chest in relief against the sunburn.

I saw one of those Z3 Bimmers that's acutally a miata.
I wanted to take pics this morning but didn't see it again; I've noticed it once or twice that sometime looked odd but confirmed it was a miata yesterday.
Hopefully I'll have some to follow.

Winning, BP4W head and squaretop intake just arrived. Collecting more parts and planning the rest of the build is next.
On an unrelated note, anyone want to buy a kidney? Will also trade for go-fast parts.

One year in the Navy today, 19 more to go.

This head will do perfectly fine for my intended goals. Lack of cam availability and possible fatal harmonics with higher RPM steered me away from it. The fact that the cheapest VVT head here was $800 (converted for lazy americans sake) didn't help either.
In the meanwhile, enjoy your anemic B6 head

wow... i was going to quote nub's post and change it to "i'm more of a power bottom now" and provide a funny "power bottom" picture... but when i performed the google image search, i was presented with a variety of reasons one should never search "power bottom" with safesearch set to "off"
I spent most of my day today covered in power steering fluid. I dont think my hands will be 100% clean for at least a month after today.

The Moton sticker finally paid off. Porsche-guy at lunch asked me in traffic, "You have Motons on that car!?!?!" lol The guy had a Moton sticker and a Glock sticker, we should be friends I guess considering I have a Moton sticker and a S&W sticker on my car.
I disagree with the theory that putting a gun sticker on your car will scare other drivers into affording you unlimited respect. If anything, it just makes you an easier target.
I would prefer cops not know that I'm armed because it changes their entire approach to you into what I consider a negative way. Also, Florida is a no-tell state so I don't have to tell cops sh it about having weapons in the car.

Man I'm really tired of smokers. Bugging me to cover their constant smoke breaks, smoking outside the freight door so the smoke seeps in and stinks up my workplace, leaving cigarette butts all over the place.
