How (and why) to Ramble on your goat sideways
I had my last commute home from a corporate job this afternoon. Starting tomorrow I am diving into MKTurbo full time. It feels really weird knowing I won't have a steady paycheck. But the fact that I'm now going to be doing something that I love full time and will be my own boss is surreal.
This. It's why I've also turned down sales positions and such as well.
Well aren't you just so ******* special
I've never messed with anything pertaining to the PS system, so perhaps I was just being a slow **** to make sure I didn't end up ******* something up...as is my luck. Now, if I did it again, it'd probably be a 30 minute job start to finish.

This woman who I went to high school with... We were never a thing, but I accepted her friend request on Facebook several years ago.
Since then, nearly every single post she has made has been a promotion for whatever nutrition supplement pyramid scheme she's involved in. It's all "You can get fit, be a coach, and represent this product" stuff.
To be honest, she used to be decent-looking. Now she looks like a man. All hard and wrinkled and flat. And not a normal man, we're talking Johnny Depp in "***** Wonka" here. Here's an example:
Every time I see one of those posts, I'm tempted to say "wow, you used to be really cute!"

But fortunately you have the brains to realize getting paid very well to sit in a climate controlled building while clicking a mouse and receiving a steady paycheck and benefits plus a few weeks of paid time off is smarter than busting your *** over a grinder, inhaling welding fumes, dealing with unrealistic customers, handling quality control issues from your suppliers, and possibly worrying about funds for important things.
But it should be cool if all Lars has to do is place a large PO with his mandrel bender place, box up the parts, ship, and profit. Best of luck Lars!!

I'd be lying if I said that the latent desire to actually let my (largely atrophied) homebrewing skills manifest themselves into a microbrewery wasn't nipping at my consciousness...

To be honest, I'm in a place in my life right now where I'm thinking "How can I bust out of this corporate rut, and also maybe move to SC?"

Joe Perez, you have about as close to 100% personal freedom as I've ever seen.
Quit your damn job and do whatever you want until the money runs out. You will probably not ever have another chance to do it while you're physically able.
But don't start a brewery. The market is saturated and that's just bad business. And plus all the beer names are taken.

But what would still work great is a farm that does the typical fall activities i.e. hay ride to pick pumpkins, corn maze, hay bale jungle gym for kids, AND has a microbrewery for the adults. Lines & parking would be INSANE even with 10 taps flowing. You'd be so far into the black only 'open' 2 days a week.
you can even open a section of your farm for paintball.
I LOL'ed.
I'm starting to see (and unfriend) people peddling that food pyramid scheme as well. In fact, one of my college buddies used to mock and criticize another friend who did the Amway thing. Now, that guy who criticized it is peddling whatever that new scheme is with shakes and powders, etc. They even went to the cult gathering at the headquarters this year, I am told.

I have always felt like I owe myself an engineering degree after I abandoned electronics engineering way back in 1983.
Things were different back then; engineers were either unemployed, or subjected to slave labor. That's why I went into a field where I could make some money.
On another note, pretty much everybody my age have turned into old geezers, and I somehow managed to stay young. Physically and mentally.
People my age are looking for ways to quietly retire from life, and I am still chasing new things. Go figure.
To be perfectly honest, I have pretty high hopes for the near future with this TV show.
I keep getting all the encouragement one can possibly imagine from the director, producer and those who know these things. So, I work hard and keep my fingers crossed.
This TV thing may pay off big time, netting me a decent living in further iterations of what we are shooting right now.
Then again, may is a pretty slippery word.
I may use this degree to satisfy my ego, to prop some argument on in forum discussions, or to add credibility to my "personality" for my possible TV future.
Employment aspirations at this age in a place like Turkey would be unrealistic. Age discrimination is a national pastime here.
But at the end of the day, you never know.
I have landed senior management positions before, I may just have one more shot left in me...

Asking for a friend, honest.
A friend of mine installed a turbo and an MS2 in his '91 Miata. MS2 was bought used, with a really messed up tune.
The thing does not run properly, and idle is a mess...
I will do whatever I can on the car but I have very little time these days.
Could one of you gents please be so kind to send me a working BASEMAPtune to get this car going?
I will handle fuel and timing once I can get it to idle and stuff.
It has 360cc RC injectors, a BMW TPS (calibrated), COP (I just installed)...
Sorry for asking to be spoonfed, but I am pretty much at my wit's end over here with this car.
EDIT:
I meant BASEMAP, not tune...

Srs cat question.
My wife brought home a cat. She's a sweet cat, but she is constantly getting up on the counter, and getting into food, on the stove, in the sink, etc. Nothing is safe. I bought her a water fountain cat bowl thing. She ignores it, and tries to drink stale water out of coffee cups in the sink. If I squirt her with water in a spray bottle she jumps down, licks herself and jumps right back up. Is this cat trainable, or is her tiny walnut brain just too small?
For the record, I'm a dog person, and this would have only been a problem about tree times with a dog. Training even stupid dogs is easy compared to this.

I laughed a bit too hard at this, but he has a point.
Kitty is interested in the new place A better cat deterrent is needed. Maybe look into on amazon.
Some cats are just a pain. Our grey/brown tabby still gets into things and occasionally gets up on the counters after 4-5 years. He's sloooowwwly getting better. Years of stern NO GODDAMNIT NOOOOOOOOOOOs and a quick little spank have started to keep him in line. He's not malicious or particularly destructive, just EXTREMELY smart and active and gets bored in the house.
