How round does round have to be? You could take several angled cuts on a tablesaw approximating the curve and then sand. My guess is you’d never know it wasn’t actually round.

Robotics build season starts in earnest today. It has only been game reveal and prototyping up to this point. Now we start the long weekends and late nights.

EDIT: if you can spare some time, mentoring students for the FIRST program is very rewarding. You don't need to be an engineer, either. They have need for all sorts of skill sets.

Find someone with a large format CNC carving machine that can do 3D milling and has a ball end.

The multiple passes on a table saw idea is what I'd probably do. You could also laminate thin material and build one up.

or get a profile template (cut open a 3" ID pipe) and sand the @!#?@! out of it til it fits the template.

.... you're building speakers aren't you.

A customer was showing a government surplus auction site with titanium billet blocks for sale earlier. If you have a cnc mill...

Basically a tall wooden box with rounded corners (2-3" radius).

You could also purchase some of the PVC plastic drain pipe from Lowe's or Home Depot that has a usable inside radius then quarter it length wise with a table saw to keep the cut nice and straight.
It seems like they come in 10 foot lengths and would be about 1/4" thick for the 6" size.
That would give you four pieces that are usable for inner radius corners.
If need be you can mud and tape right over it.

Quite frankly, I couldn't care less about the minutae which pedants argue over when it lets me solve a major problem at the station early in the morning while in my pajamas.

We use Cisco AnyConnect, OpenVPN GUI, and PureVPN depending on the particular project I'm working on.

Update on me. Long story short. Almost to the day I made 3 months on shift and I completely blew my knee out during company training. Large bucket handle meniscus tear and my ACL said bye bye. Luckily my department is amazing and they have completely taken care of me.

In the meantime, I am enjoying myself (just kidding I want to die), and starting to look at a new vehicle. Originally I wanted the Colorado diesel but then I realized I'd have to look at it and my boner went away because it really is gross. Thought about the Tacoma and the F150 ecoboost. Love the ecoboost but kinda shifty on the Tacoma mostly due to the price and kinda the looks.

Recently I've been head over heals for the OBS 7.3 Powerstroke. I have some close friends who have them (one is a mint 7.3 Excursion) and they said they would take their vehicles to the grave.

Is it really that crazy to get a 25yr old truck? I'd tow the miata and maybe a boat trailer, obviously overkill, but honestly it would be for the looks and the simplicity. The longest I have to commute to a station is 80 minutes all highway lmao.

An Arab family was considering putting their grandfather (Abdullah) in a nursing home. All the Arab facilities were completely full, so they put him in an Italian home.

After a few weeks in the Italian facility, they came to visit Grandpa.

"How do you like it here?" asked the grandson.

"It's wonderful! Everyone here is so courteous and respectful," said grandpa.

"We're so happy for you. We were worried that this was the wrong place for you, since you are a little different from everyone."

"Oh, no! Let me tell you about how wonderfully they treat the residents," Abdullah said with a big smile.

"There's a musician here - he's 85 years old. He hasn't played the violin in 20 years, and everyone still calls him Maestro!

There is a judge in here - he's 95 years old. He hasn't been on the bench in 30 years and everyone still calls him Your Honor!

There's a dentist here - 90 years old. He hasn't fixed a tooth for 25 years, and everyone still calls him Doctor!

And Me - I haven't had sex for 35 years, and they still call me The ******* Arab.

I ran across this comment from NIST REFPROP, a database of state equations and, you guessed it, Reference Properties of many gases, and gas mixtures. It is published by NIST Boulder, but utilized by people around the world. What struck me is the fineness of the state (no pun intended) of knowledge on such esoteric things as the time dependent Quantum State of Hydrogen diatoms.

"Two equations of state are available for hydrogen to account for the different quantum spin states of the molecule. Normal hydrogen should be used in applications where it was created and stored at 250 K or above, or when it was cooled to below 250 K and stored without a catalyst for less than a day. The parahydrogen equation should be used where hydrogen was catalyzed or stored for several days at the normal boiling point (NBP) and used at any temperature within 1 day of storage at the NBP. Since the rate of conversion between quantum states is dependent on temperature, pressure, and the storage container, these values are only estimates. For more information, see the Leachman et al. literature reference in the Fluid Information window for hydrogen."

NA Miata Electric Power Steering

I've been wondering why people haven't tried taking the electric pump out of the mazda3's..
