What happens when you put 24v onto a 12v car horn? Does the smoke come out?

I've never tried it, but my understand is that, if it uses signed integers, the horn will actually wrap around past "loud" and actually start to consume sound.

It wasn't actually meant to be a serious question. The "sound of a dying giraffe" quote floated through my head while filtering results, and I kinda wanted to make a little joke about it here.

And, by "neighbors," I mean the residents of Manitoba.

I can attest to the fact the Kahlenberg makes loud horns (point of fact, they are called whistles on ship). Especially when numb-nuts designers have them mounted directly to the deck house on the flying bridge (instead of up in the air on a mast, preferably on the other end of the vessel, like God intended). Even with two deck separation between said horn and my rack, the noise and vibration comes through the steel quite clearly. It makes for somewhat less than restful sleep.

Hunting buddy tested positive for Covid. Wife, son and I are all sick, or at least were. Wife and I are well on our way to recovery, but son is just getting started. Wife went to get tested (they said only one of us needs to go) and I'm guessing quarantine is in the works.

Worst symptoms for me and the wife were the aches. I felt like my knees had been smashed with a club. I'm mostly over it, but only time will tell.

Been a lot of that going around.

One of my guys at work tested positive last weekend. It was one of those deals where he does side-gigs (sporting events and such, which use mostly per-diem crews) and everyone working those crews has to get a negative test before each event.

Thankfully, doesn't seem to have been any secondary transmission in our shop, which honestly surprises me, given the number of shared tools.

Airborne transmission seems to be the main focus these days, hence masks. What was his work environment in that context, close working with others? Your work have a mask policy?

We have a mask policy anytime one is in a shared space. Compliance is fairly high.

A total of about 8 people share the construction dept. office throughout the course of a typical day, and this individual spends a lot of time in the tool room, the wire room, and the rack rooms as well. Probably comes into contact with about 30 people on a given shift.

This is only the second case in my department so far. The first one passed it on to his parents, both in their 80s, who subsequently died. That was early in the year.

My sister tested positive about a week ago, and was "ordered to stay home" per the law over here.
She was very sick, and woke up perfectly fine on the morning of day 5.
That is exactly what happened to me as well, although I never bothered to get tested.

Done.

Someone on my production line died from the rona early this spring. Other than that, no fatalities in the building. But last time someone dropped a deuce in the stairwell, it only took a VP like 5 days to get someone to clean it up, so I'm pretty sure it's a total clean room now. Someone really made a savy call by converting the biggest building on earth to trouble-ticket only janitorial service.

I gotta admit, this simultaneously surprises me, and yet also fills in a lot of missing back-story as to the 787.

❤️ Thanks Hakan. We really wanted to throw the party we had planned, but life has a way of messing with plans.

Also, I quite enjoy Brutalist architecture. It pleases me that the designer didn't try to soften this building with rounded edges, but rather embraces the fact that inside this building, humans will judge other humans, often harshly, and as such the gravity of the building reflects the gravity of the situation.
