Alternator swap from jack up to jack down in under 40 min. I feel mostly accomplished. Silly charge pipe and coolant reroute in my way though.

I think I'll be removing the reroute this weekend and tossing it up in the FS section.

Petie tried to kill me 2 nights ago.
Took me for a ride in his hopped up Sub Legacy Turbo.
Showed me latest dyno slip, 405 hp...on a stage 2 clutch, bye bye clutch.
Bye bye heart.... We nearly died. He's a maniac.
He's such a good friend. But I will NOT be deterred in my quest for a hotrod Miata.
I just can never expect to beat him...unless I pull his oil line off or something..(hmmm)

Carry on.
First post. I'm Mark. I'm addicted to ATVing, fishing, cigars, and fast cars.

I finally broke down and bought my own hookah last weekend. It's only a small, single pipe model but it gets the job done. I'm sure my neighbors think I'm doing something more when I'm chillin' on my back deck hittin' it...lol. The box says "Model version: Lisa"....soI guess it's name is Lisa.

In another story of random babble, I was relaxing on my deck with Lisa and watching my hummingbird feeders and I noticed a rather large population of those brown hornets. So I started watching where they were going because I want to get rid of them (they run the hummingbirds off) and my neighbors just removed a sizable nest from under their deck. So I watched one fly right into the flue to our fireplace...well, not a real fireplace, but one of these new natural gas units with a small vent on the back of the house...no actual chimney. The initial instinct would be to turn the fireplace on and cook the fuckers out but I don't want to rish the nest catching fire and the nest might be on the outside of the vent pipe and not in it. The other problem is we do not have gas service to the house since everything else is electric. So a no-go on cooking them out. The next logical step is to cover the vent and lock them in to die of starvation or heat from the sun (the vent faces west and gets 8+ hours of very direct sunlight). But before I could cover up the vent, I had to wait until night so they would all be in there. So after nightfall, I started conjuring up a plan to kill the fuckers. I ended up making a large sheet of plastic using saran wrap consisting of several sheets taped together and placing it over the flue. I can' twait to get home and see if they've started dying off yet. Will post pics of ghetto bee trap contraption.

Someone spiked the hookah!

Ya, it was me.

Doppelgänger 07-08-2011 10:26 AM

You can either turn it in to a local veterans organization or burn it in a solemn
personal manner.

Doppelgänger 07-08-2011 10:38 AM

Or find some dirkadirka neighbors and let them burn it for you.

TITLE 4 > CHAPTER 1 > § 8
§ 8. Respect for flag

(k) The flag, when it is in such condition that it is no longer a fitting emblem for display, should be destroyed in a dignified way, preferably by burning.

This seemed to be helpful.

Section 8k of the Flag Code states, "The flag, when it is in such condition that it is no longer a fitting emblem for display, should be destroyed in a dignified way, preferably by burning." We recommend that you contact your local VFW Chapter and ask them for help properly disposing of your flag. And be sure to consider providing a small donation to them for their assistance. Or you can contact your local Elks Lodge (who created the idea of Flag Day, established officially by President Truman, himself a member of the Elks), the American Legion, or the Knights of Columbus. Some Boy Scout and Girl Scout troups also can provide this service.

Edit: Slow.

olderguy 07-08-2011 10:54 AM

Glad to see so many of our members have respect for our flag.

EDIT: Talk about coincidences; as I was writing my reply, the UPS guy delivered my new 4 x 6 flag.

I fly it 24 hours a day, lighted at night, and replace it when in shows signs of fading.

But then I also have a Garand like I trained with in Basic that was manufactured the year I was born.

Would it be inappropriate to use my charcoal grill?

Yes, without any burgers or hot dogs cooking at the time.
