The faster the Miata, the faster you can get to your boyfriend's house.

I mean, go on Yelp.com and look up reviews for Tony's Barber Shop in San Marcos, CA. Here are a few excerpts from four different reviews, so you know I'm not bullshitting you:

"His prior police service and his age make him rough around the edges; he is not a politically correct Californian. He talks about his experiences, distinguishing often between white people and black people."

"the shop is a dump."

"The owner is a bigot (...) believe me it is worth waiting 30-45 minutes somewhere else unless you want to listen to a tirade full of racism."

"I had to listen to a 30 minute rant from this guy how blacks are the cause of all the problems in the world including a long-winded story about his days on the Detroit Police Department."

And I'm not cherry-picking here. Fully 75% of the reviews on this place are all about how crappy-looking the shop is, how Tony is a bigot, etc etc.

I mean, those reviewers probably wrote that stuff as though they thought it was a bad thing, but holy balls, these are the EXACT things I am looking for in a barbershop! I want a no-bullshit haircut by a crusty old man who doesn't give a damn if you think his sofa is old and ugly, and who is such an utter asshole that the only POSSIBLE way that he could still be in business after all these decades is that he must be the best damned barber within a 20 km radius.

If you're that serious about a haircut, there's a place exactly like that in Yountville, CA. Larry's Babershop. Guy is a retired Army officer who basically only golfs and cuts hair. I went there when I was growing up but it's not worth the drive to me anymore. You can grab a haircut and go wine tasting all in the same day. You're probably looking at like a 2 ish hour drive from Silicon Valley.

One of my co-workers just ripped the wires out of a RAID controller battery backup cable while trying to remove and thus swap out the dead battery. After spending 20 minutes repinning the connector using the bronze age caveman tools I have here at the office, he ripped it out again while trying to reinstall the battery.

Time to start drinking, I think I'm done for the day.

Jesus, what is he, a caveman? Tell him to stop being a clumsy fuck. I would have broken a chair over his head the second time.

There sure are a lot of Asians here.

Here as in this forum? Or here as in California.

Youtubes CC translation is embarrassingly bad. Watching Best Motoring International episodes, and I'm laughing, and pissed off at the same time. Even doing CC of english speaking people is way way way wrong. If I didn't know it was a car show, I'd have no idea what I was watching. I'm not even sure where the captions are coming from. The english parts don't match anything close, at all. Not even the same sounds, or anything that could be confused.

And by Asia, you're including India. Chaat abounds!

First dinner: go to Kabul in Sunnyvale (El Camino @ Pastoria) and get the Mantu and yogurt-beef-pumpkin dish. Thank me later.

Yes, the last time I checked, India was in Asia.

First dinner was Wendy's. I'll branch out a tad when I'm not so busy / tired.

Picking up the car next Saturday. :bowrofl:
Went to see it again today and just sat in it for like an hour. I don't think I've ever been so excited for anything before like I am now. The AC is ICE cold too (the NA didn't have it, which sucks in Texas).
